Why is it automatically assumed that he YYYs can basically vanish for 3 years and then suddenly they are a sub? Saw them twice in 2009 but think they've lost a bit of momentum.

Had to look it up but it appears that was Interpol's first big gig in 2.5 years and first place to hear new material released July 2007.

YYYs have been virtually gone 3 years, have a bunch of international 2013 tour dates before Coachella roles around. Plus YYYs played a lowkey California within the past year or so.

Like the Strokes IMO Interpol were more influential as a studio act than the YYYs.
