Macklemore is just a bootleg Atmosphere
Yep, that's how I first heard of him, and when I came back I posted about how much I didn't like him. I didn't even know his name, the Sasquatch vets had to tell me who he as. He was also written about as one of the worst things at Lolla by Spin, and that's saying something...
Ouch
ends up as a party track for privileged dweebs,
Me either. I'm losing my edge. I was waiting for this lineup to decide between Sasquatch and Coachella and it's become a relatively easy choice. For some reason I was entertaining the thought that Tool might headline a night since they're playing Ozzfest in May and have never played Sasquatch. Guess it's Nick Cave ftw!

Base ticket price gross for Sasquatch is in the $10m range if it's true that capacity was raised to 32,000 in 2013.
Base ticket price gross for Coachella is in the $25m range PER WEEKEND in 2013. it was $47m for both weekends in 2012 and there's been a price hike.
Then one has to figure in revenue from food/beer/hotels/shuttle/camping. I still think dollar for dollar Saquatch is left in the dust.
I liked Macklemore before he got popular.
JUST SO YA'LL KNOW!
I also haven't listened to his new stuff.
Camping is included with the Sasquatch festival ticket, Bumble.
Macklemore is soooooooo bad.... he opened for Blue Scholars a couple years ago in nyc... Absolutely terrible. If you had told me then that cheeseball would have a number 1 song and get huge I would have told you to fuck off. I still think it's so weird. When I went home over break, Thrift Shop's all over the radio, my mom's singing it. lol

Is Macklemore supposed to be looked at as a joke or does this clown actually want to be taken seriously?

Walked by when Macklemore played in SF and the place was a shit show of kids getting dropped off by parents and whatnot. Sold out and the kids had a lot of energy waiting outside to get in. Had no clue who he was at the time and was surprised he had a number one song. Gave it a cursory listen and chalked it up to some random high school one hit wonder popularity thing. The demographic was definitely white teens. I assume it will come and go in a few years.
I have no clue who the fuck Macklemore is. I listened to about 10 seconds of him on Youtube before smartly clicking "x" on that tab.
Ok, I am not really a Macklemore fan, but I have to say this video impressed me. The first song especially is pretty fantastic. It is not every day you hear a rapper standing up for gay marriage. You don't have to watch the whole thing, just give the first song he performs here a try.
One of his classics.
But you should atleast check this one out. Maybe?
Enough about him, I like Shad.
