This is a good lineup...though not good enough to travel for considering coachella has most if the acts I'd want to see anyway. The only act I wish coachella got is the presets but we got a great set from them in 2011 so no complaints.
3/13-3/17 - SXSW - Austin
4/11 - The Shouting Matches - Pappy & Harriets
4/12-4/14 - Coachella Music & Arts Festival - Empire Polo Grounds
4/16 - Sigur Ros - Fox Theater Oakland
4/19 - Sigur Ros - Santa Barbara Bowl
4/22 - The Gaslight Anthem - Belly Up Tavern
6-2 - CHVRCHES - Belly Up Tavern
6/7-6/9 - Governors Ball Music Festival w/ Kanye West - Governors Island NYC
I'll take my lashes when they're deserved. I was motherfucking wrong about The Knife and MBV. Touche, supre.
Lots of stuff I'm really fucking excited about though. I didn't get to fully experience Empire of the Sun and The Presets at Coachella, so this is definitely making up for basically missing them in 2011.
Sigur Ros (at the fucking GORGE), Disclosure, John Talabot, Beachwood Sparks, Primus 3D, Solange, Twin Shadow, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Matthew Dear, Death Grips, Built to Spill, and Elliott Brood all have me immediately stoked.
I like it. Built to Spill, BRMC, Toro y Moi, plus some Coachella crossover. If the festival itself wasn't wasn't so uptight and they fixed their sound issues, I think I might consider returning.
great lineup, still confused why coachella didnt get primus
Most of what I would want to see will be at Coachella. The only other acts that interest me would be:
Empire of the Sun
The Presets
Lusine
Shout Out Louds
Twin Shadow
Nick Offerman
For your health
Arctic monkeys, brmc, tallest man on earth, John talabot, azari and III, built to spill, toro y moi and twin shadow all look pretty damn awesome to me. Isn't the capacity about a 1/3 of coachella? Hmmm
I think the Gorge has expanded the Sasquatch capacity to approximately 32,000.
32,000 is roughly a third of what coachella has, give or take. Sasquatch has alot going for it this year, and pretty much every year since 08.
TOTALLY ENORMOUS EXTINCT DINOSAURS. Still can't believe he's not a Coachella this year. So much fun live.
Well, right, except for this totally lame set of Coachella headliners that everyone is complaining about that includes Blur, the Stone Roses, and Nick Cave, and . . . Hell even Sasquatch had Massive Attack a few years ago.
I get it, things are redundant everywhere at this point, but this particular festival is really redundant.
I saw the presets and TEED when they came to L.A. I was just really hoping that PEACE and CHVRCHES could come to coachella. Chvrches tour date in L.A. overlaps with school
Some great stuff, but ultimately not worth traveling for in my opinion. I know I'd have a blast regardless though.
Last.fm
Big Boi/Killer Mike - 5/20 - Rialto Theatre
The Black Angels - 5/22 - Hotel Congress
Devo - 5/24 - Rialto Theatre
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - 5/30 - Rialto Theatre
There isn't much that draws me to this.
I'll have to pass. Or check if I can get a deal.
This place is out of its mind offering VIP passes for $1000 and having Yurts and Tents for $6500 and $5000.
The only thing on that lineup that is absent form Coachellas that would make me want to go is Red Fang. other than that, pretty lackluster meh-ish.
and Macklemore... what the fuck is this shit?
May 22 - Arctic Monkeys @ Ventura Theatre
June 9 - Devo/Gza @ LANHM
June 19 - Zavala @ Soho
July 31 - Flaming Lips @ Pacific Amp.
August 24,25 - FYF fest - State Historic Park
Sept. 22 - M83 w/ Philharmonic @ Hollywood Bowl
Sept. 12 -GY!BE @ the Fonda
Oct. 17 - Atoms for Peace @ SB Bowl
lineup is decent. i bet sigur ros at the gorge would be pretty special to witness though.
| May 22 - Paul McCartney | May 24 - Black Flag | May 25 - Soundgarden | May 31 - Baroness | June 1 - Andy Stott | June 10 - Dragonette | June 22 - Tricky | July 27 - Black Sabbath | August 2 - Rob Zombie/Mastodon |August 15 - Queens of the Stone Age | October 4-6 - ACL |
Seattles finest musical offering is what that shit is. Its even worse that Macklemore is a headliner. I will not be suprised if Lolla has em billed super high, cause that audience jizzes over this kind of shit.
Twin Shadow has a show here at the end of June. You figure Empire of the Sun announces something tomorrow.
Sound City?
Suuns
Surfer Blood
Chvches
Empire of the Sun
BRMC
Torches
It should also be noted that 3+ acts are making their Northwest debuts like Empire, Chvches and Azealia Banks.
All Coachella repeats. Is sharing a headliner with Pitchfork worth the bragging rights?
Start figuring out who's playing on what day for 10-15 acts playing Primavera and elsewhere in the Northwest.
Sigur Ros at the Gorge is going to be incredible.
