i showed up for the byrne set at the end of Ed Sharpe. They were playing home (which, btw, I realized is completely to blame for Mumford and Sons being a thing) and i guess in the middle they had story time. handing the Mic to random acidheads in the crowd. great idea. some girl gets on and screams, 'Put the goddamn cell phones down'. I thought this was the band melting down, and i laughed pretty hard.

hip hop superjam went about 40 minutes over. the two guys from lettuce came back out to keep jamming, but people were walking away so they only played for like 2 minutes after that.

RZA was the fucking man that night.

    Soul Superjam
    Bjork
    David Byrne & St. Vincent
    The xx
    Grizzly Bear
    Japandroids
    David Cross
    The National
    Animal Collective
    Swans

To be honest, the top three would all be in the conversation for top ten favorite bonnaroo sets ever (out of six times attending) and the Soul Superjam would be in the conversation for the most fun I've ever had at a single set. The only bad set I saw all weekend was Kendrick Lamar. Love the album, but jesus he's bland live.

I thought Kendrick was good honestly. A lot better from when I saw him at Coachella last year. Crowd was eating out of his hand.

Pretty sure Pretty Lights played well past their time, our campmates got back to camp after 4 AM from his set. Out of the six times I've attended, this was easily the best, I can't remember a festival I've been to where every single performer I saw brought it. I have a feeling people will be talking about the Soul Superjam, AnCo, and Macca sets for a while.

Only regret is not seeing Swans, I heard a good portion of the crowd were extremely confused.

I was very irritated by all the rage sticks, totems, balloons and flags. I took video of some performances and I had to dodge them quite a bit.

if more bands would shame people in the crowd to stop recording this wouldn't be a problem.

You're kidding right? I mean have you ever listened to the songs? Seriously Bonnaroo 09 was a blast, and I want to go back next summer. It seems this Bonnaroo was one for the books, much like 2009. I must go back.
