On the schedule page under Friday the 26th

Campers can begin checking in at 10:00am. General admission doors at 01:30pm.
maybe that just means doors to the fest, but that doesn't seem right

Please see the Sliver Apples for me...

I would see Warpaint as well since they are playing at night and I would expect them to play their new songs from their 2013? album release. They were great the last two times I saw them....yet they were HORRIBLE to me at coachella 2011 though.

I plan on seeing both. I've only seen Warpaint in a small venue but it was pretty damn good.

Get in there at 10, through security, setup tent, and the venue opens at 130. Kinda blows

Hm. I am in Killeen, TX the next couple weeks. Close to Austin. I think I could swing Friday. Can I get in easily enough buying a walk up single day pass for this?

Are you staying in a hotel the first two nights? Could always do a late check-out or something.

EDIT* Are you worried about not getting a good camping spot?

Warpaint was great at Primavera. Perfect set as the sea breeze was rolling in. But on the Coachella cruise in a small bar? Brilliant. The new songs were so good that I wanted more of them, and the sets were already predominantly new material.

Thanks. Just need to work on schedule. Suddenly a mundane trip just became very interesting for me!

Tell me about it. I just flew back home last night from Bothchellas. I work for two days, then fly out to Houston and drive in with some friends. I'll sleep in the Winter. It's what the bears do.

I will be there for Metz, but probably leave before APTBS. I need to see Thrones and Pinkish Black. Both have been on the list for awhile and are playing a 10 buck show a couple blocks away.

Hit up the first night of this festival yesterday. Very cool and was mostly a fun time. Some thoughts

    THE GOOD

BRMC- Excellent pacing and energy, even if things did lilt a bit towards the end. I was right up front. Crowd was mostly respectful and into it with not too many bros around. I'm now very energized for this tour and looking forward to the So CA shows.

Raveonettes- Loved em! A cross between MBV, Curve, and a dose of JAMC... and touch of Teenage Fanclub. You get the idea. Heavy on the midi tracks, but very well done. And no apologies here for sounding sexist/creepy- Sharin Foo has a great butt! Would happily watch it shake again in that tight dress. Really surprised how much I liked them and all their songs.

The Crowd- Lots of friendly folks. Very mellow and laid back. Plenty of room no matter where you went with little pushing or angst. Made a couple of new friends at one of the tents- we talked about our recent Coachella experiences (wind!).

    THE BAD

The Sound- The left main at the Reverberation Stage completely cut out for about 30 seconds during Raveonettes. Warpaint struggled mightily with sound too and it definitely affected their entire performance. It was fine when it was working. But a lot of snap, crackle and pop and the occasional outage. Shoddy as hell.

The Beer- Dos Equis lager everywhere. In tall cans. Yech. Having Strongbow Cider available helped, but not much. Had one drink with Tito's vodka in it... well, supposedly there was some Tito's vodka in it.

The Merch- Normally wouldn't care too much about this, but there wasn't a whole lot of anything to be had there from any of the bands. Some cool posters up front. That's about it (maybe I missed something?).

Dark porta-potties- And I do mean it was dark! After the sun went down, you couldn't see a damn thing. This is ok in some ways, but a pain if you drop something or just in general want to see where your aiming. Hell, it was hard to even tell if they were occupied or not it was so poorly lit.

    THE UGLY

Allergies- Whatever the hell is on the ground and in the air there is exactly the one thing I am most allergic to on the planet. It was so bad at one point, I contemplated leaving. A walk over to the med tent revealed a couple of guys lazing around with no supplies and not much interest. I asked if there was a general store of any kind where I could maybe just get some aspirin. Nope! I didn't take their word and went looking anyway. They were right. I couldn't find even basic supplies (one more BAD).

Overall, I ended up having a great time! I really liked most of BRMCs new stuff and we got a decent dose of old- Red Eyes and Tears, 666 Conducer, Six Barrel Shotgun, Ain't No Easy Way.

I had such a blast yesterday. Met a ton of people from Europe and Asia. Everyone in general has been super friendly. Regarding the merch, I guess there was a delay in shipping or something. Everything should be there today. Can't wait for tonight!

Rumors of a girl getting shocked and that's why showers are closed. No genral store that was promised and if you want to leave to get supplies you have you have to pay 7 bucks each time on top of the $21 weekend charge that no one told us about until we were here. This wasn't bothering me yesterday when security was relaxed, but now they are being like thery were at Coachella on Friday. This festival is great inside, but camping is awful. The thing that pisses me off most though is that every concern or complaint is met with the response, "I don't know. That's not my job." Even if you try to enquire about who to talk to you get the same response.

I also saw a headdress today. Shit is not going well

but austin, this time of year, is an OUTSTANDING post-coachella place to be. when we got back this week, it was beautiful...just a huge sigh of relief and comfort.

and now that they are doing camping on a beautiful ranch...
