Considering the Sahara holds nearly twice that number, the spillage outside the tent, and the increased size of the tent that year, i'd say that number is off quite a bit.
2006 Sahara. Noon-1:30pm
you don't see that anymore...although the lighting rigs have gotten better lolz
look man, i'm not trying to impress anyone here on the board, and i'm not trolling. I never said that what i was saying can be 100% verified, but why the fuck would my friend make up that elaborate story with specific details after not seeing him for over a year?
Nothing of substance? how about actually mentioning a studio & producer for the new album? do you think i pulled Conway RS and Max Martin out of my ass? You can check out Conway RS here on their FB page (https://www.facebook.com/conwayrecor...udios/page_map), which they just RECENTLY updated (10/16/12) with "Daft Punk" as an artist who has recorded there. Have they recorded any albums there before? No.
Aparently they have been in and out of that studio for the past year or two according to my friend. This recording studio is SPECIFICALLY chosen to hinder media leakage:
"Conway's studio perimeter includes a tropical garden area, located in a 54,000-square-foot (5,000 m2) gated complex. This feature makes it harder for paparazzi to photograph and enter the studio and parking area, improving the privacy of higher end artists and music professionals"
also for what its worth, session bass player Nathan East posted this 360 view of conway recording studios, from last year laying down some tracks, w/ daft punk: http://twitter.com/NathanEast/status/47779999712935936
now why would Nathan East be lying about Daft Punk recording at Conway Recording Studios?
hope thats enough "Substance" for ya brah.

Yeah could be. It wasn't a clusterfuck in there though. I was just outside the tent on the right when they went on, and was able to easily make my way in as the show was going on.
All of the prime time djs in 2012 had larger crowds, but remember 2006 wasn't a sellout year.
The Desert Sun review didn't even mention Daft Punk that year, only gushed about Madonna's 25 minute performance.

Biz 3 Publicity out of Chicago was recently "liked" and mysteriously "unliked" by Daft Punk's official FB page. (http://a403.idata.over-blog.com/3/29...e-copie-11.JPG)
