booked my hotel for the whole week a few days ago, glad i had the dates right lol, excited for birthday week in vegas + edc

luckily, it sounds like they're somehow building extra roads to get to the speedway this year so that should help traffic a lot

In an attempt to alleviate such issues in 2013, EDC organizers are planning a newly dedicated route for fan and artist shuttle buses and taxis and added parking staff to help direct the flow of cars.

"We also have additional roads that are going to allow you to get to the speedway," Rotella says. "We got the green light to up our capacity because we did sell out last year, but right now, the event is going to be the size that it was last year, not any bigger, until we know that the access routes in and out are smooth."

also, here's the official press release

    http://electricdaisycarnival.com/Las...013_EDC_LV.pdf

"“Safety and the fan experience have always been and will always be our top priority,” said Rotella. “We
listen to our fans and accept their guidance. Our team is already working diligently with Las Vegas, the
local authorities, and the Speedway to improve traffic flow to make EDC 2013 the best experience yet.
And, of course, we’re also brewing new imaginative ideas for next year!”
Fan and artist shuttles as well as taxis to and from the Las Vegas Motor Speedway will have a newly
dedicated route in 2013 to minimize the impact on individual traffic. The parking staff has been increased
in order to move and park cars more quickly in and out of the lots, and there will be additional lanes in
and out of the event. Additional adjustments to enhance the guest experience and relieve transportation
congestion outside of the event are already being planned and tested for implementation during the 2013
    festival."

Board meetup at Richie this year ? haha

Do you guys remember how much single day tickets were last year? I'm thinking I will only go 2 days depending on the schedule, but for only $199 it may be better to just get a 3 day pass.

$215 before fees according to my flavorus account.

No single day passes this year so you're kinda stuck buying a 3-day no matter what

Tier 2 is giving people errors also, and tier 2 is $260 without fees. Go fuck yourself Insomniac.

Shipping ~10, tax ~10, service fees ~10, that's pretty reasonable. $260 for a 3 day festival is also reasonable. All presale tickets are sold out now

If you look at the Insomniac budget report, $260 + expenses is not reasonable especially with the shit they pulled for Saturday this year, with their only answer as "Well it said on the ticket that...."

I don't think Tier "2" (technically Tier 1 since others are "presales") was $260 last year, I thought there was a $220 tier 1 (after the 199 "presales/specials" whatever the fuck they are) - Either way, as someone who has been to several EDCs/Insomniac events, I'm kind of sick of headache of getting a decent priced ticket. Every year these tiered tickets go up in price from last years tier.

I wonder how many presale 3 day passes were available anyway... I mean they can fit up 100k capacity each day.

The headache? It's not hard to refresh your page at 11:59, sorry it just isn't...The shit they pulled for Saturday? Yes they "pulled" something by having the weather be shitty...I'm pretty sure the pricing this year is no higher than last year's, if it is, it isn't much. Insomniac is a business, businesses want to make money and I'm pretty sure they could have charged more and still had it sell out today, so whatever

Looks like 20k at $199, no idea about the next tier up.

    20,000 x $199 = $3,980,000 in 3 minutes. Damn. It's like printing money.

Tried to buy a VIP Ticket but it sold out while it was "Processing" even though I had the ticket in my basket. Dafuq!

Will the VIP at $450 be more expensive during the regular onsale in January?

Oh I'm sorry Dad, I didn't realize you were over my shoulder as I had two browsers constantly refreshing at that time. Maybe I did it wrong? Perhaps I should be using Netscape?

It's a headache when you have 3+ "processing" windows that have been going on for 30+ minutes. Tier 1 and Tier 2. With constant minor increases, most people will say, "meh whatever", but if each year you've attended and you've seen very little improvement and larger capacity, you wonder - Where the fuck is that extra money going? When you've attended several great events, the ones you attend in the future should deliver, not have you scratch your head and say: Is this worth it?

For how they handled the reaction to the "wind" problem - If you bought a Saturday ticket, go ahead and go to Sunday - If you had a 3 day pass... well sorry bro. - That's not really a proper way of handling a problem. You give one customer a full refund and able to make up for the lost day, while the person who paid more for a 3 day pass has basically lost money for wanting to come to your full event, rather than just ONE day.

Perhaps this year for the trance stage they won't have huge hanging speakers of death that cause a stage to get cancelled and cause a domino effect, shutting down the whole event. Yes, yes, "it wasn't shut down" there were just 1000s of workers who didn't know what the fuck was going on and that caused miscommunication forcing people to exit when they were allowed to stay at the Cosmic Meadow and the bleachers.
