DISNEY MIGHT OWN STAR WARS BUT IT IS NOT IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT! That still belongs to Lucasfilm in the same way Marvel drives their own ship. And nearly everyone at Lucasfilm loves the EU and always has to remind George of it and make a compromise. Disney can not compromise the integrity of a pre-existing storyline and fan base.... it just wont work.

The fanbase that reads the EU stuff will see the movie 20 times on opening week no matter what.

Hmm... Evil Darth Vader revived in the new films? I dunno'. I can see how tempting it is to want to use Darth Vader in a story when you're allowed to make an official Star Wars film, but I hope they don't sacrifice the quality of the story so much for the sake of bringing characters back.

I don't know how I feel about reusing Vader as the primary villain again. I do think it would make sense that there are some Vader clones hidden somewhere. I mean, Anakin was rather obsessed with finding the key to ending death and suffering in the prequels I wouldn't put it past him to make a clone of himself.
