I really am starting to get excited for this. It didn't really hit me how close it was and it just hit me that it's next weekend.

It was mentioned in the festival info faqs. The website should be up either today or tomorrow.

I will definitely be at that set. Look for the dude with the sharks and octopus on his right arm. I'll probably be around the pit assuming there is one.... again assuming they show up. lol

Fuuuck I want to be there, but someone bought tickets for me to be at the Duo of Twang in Grass Valley on the 22nd, and I don't think I can make both. That's a tough choice. Anyone have a negative/ positive review of Duo of Twang, so I can make this decision a little easier?

Per latest FYF newsletter, the 2 day passes will only be sold thru this Sunday 8/18. If you're planning on buying at Amoeba, Glass House, etc, get on it.

How good is the Nickle Diner as a potential hungover breakfast spot on Sunday morning?

Nickel diner is very good, unless you want booze. Pretty sure they don't serve it? We were thinking of Pour Haus which has bottomless beverages of various sorts.
At least in *my* awesome opinion.

Actually, i think they did have beer when we were there the other night after drinking beer all day, so we didn't have any.

Drinkey, what time were you thinking of going to Wurstkueche? (Or are you waiting on set times to decide?) If I am not out late Friday and we're not going there until after noon, I may be up for a breakfast excursion on Saturday. Especially one that includes bloody marys and/or mimosas.

Nickel does have beer. I personally think it is pretty overrated. Been pretty underwhelmed both times I went. If you want a brunch with booze, I'd go a couple blocks to Pete's.

The set times are complete and the stages have been named after a favorite television show starting with "S." I'm guessing with the Simpsons but I hope it's Seinfeld.

Damn. I was really hoping they'd take my suggestion and name each stage, "Pete," after Pete and Pete.

I'd guess it's Seinfeld. That show is a bit more in vogue right now, and it'd be perfect to name one stage after each of the four main characters. Plus, I fucking want to see a show at a stage named after Costanza.

Hey everyone, haven't researched this lineup as much as I would have liked. Any suggestions for semi-obscure acts that I'm likely to miss if not for your thoughtful advice?

I don't know how far down the lineup we should go, but I'd highly recommend catching Baroness (they went from Southern metal to a more alt-metal/alt-rock sound that is poised to blow them up big if buses don't kill them first), Omar Souleyman (an incredible artist who performs in traditional arabic styles blended with rock and synth pop. Not to be missed,) Chelsea Wolfe (Dark, ominous music with a strong melodic bent and great live performance,) METZ (a throwback to pigfuck bands from the 80s and 90s, sounds kinda like The Jesus Lizard with ADD, and a great live show to boot,) Mikal Cronin (Insanely catchy and well-written garage pop, he plays in Ty Segall's band and put out one of the best albums of the year,) Charles Bradley (he started as a James Brown impersonator and has definitely taken a page from his former career in his newer endeavors) and Eleanor Friedberger (One of the two creative forces behind The Fiery Furnaces, who write (wrote?) great fractured pop music. If she's anything like her former band, her set will be her performing a gigantic medley of her songs without pause for the entire time. The Furnaces were excellent, and in large because of her crazy personality.)

Not sure if he qualifies as "semi-obscure", but definitely check out Charles Bradley. He's incredible live.

He puts an incredible amount of emotion into his performances. My favorite set of Sasquatch 2012.

Eleanor Friedberger is a must-see, indeed. Would make for a nice daytime set on that stage where the gold line passes by.

Antwon's the smallest name listed, but worth checking out. He's definitely one of the top ones I'm looking forward to.
