Well, I knew this thing wouldn't sell out in a day. Maybe not at all. But I was still up at 3am PHT to buy my ticket when the onsale went live! I'm so stoked about this line up. And having it 10 minutes from home sure does add to the appeal.

On the subject of boozy pre-meet ups, think a few of us (Drinkey, etc) did Wurstkuche last year. That was a winner. I'm pretty open to most anything in the area. Lots of good options.

Looking back at last year's, the toughie was Desaparecidos cutting into Converge with HEALTH playing on the other side as well as Against Me! vs. Lightning Bolt. Last year's lineup was so over-saturated with punk, though, it was inevitable.

Scalpers probably bought up the Sunday passes, not doing the math to realize that unless they are selling to someone who is also mathematically challenged, marking up the price of a Sunday ticket just amounts to forcing someone to buy a two-day pass on their own terms.

Like mentioned above, probably weren't a lot put out there to begin with, but if it does happen to sell out altogether, I wonder how that will cramp the experience. There's always been so much room to walk, stand back from afar and watch or just watch bands closer without being stuffed in like a sardine.

I'm still going to get my tickets, but will give it a few days to see if they do indeed sell out somehow (which will then mean I won't get my tickets!) The FYF crowd has typically been pretty legit and "there for the music" types, unlike a huge chunk of Coachella's that are there to party. I'd rather not have my time spoiled by a bunch of chicks who half-bought their tickets quickly in hope of seeing MGMT play "Kids." In my warped mind, a non or slower sell-out equates to better clientele of crowd.

Oh there are always plenty of sceney douches at FYF, but they're definitely not crowding around the stages where the hardcore bands are playing.

Give it time. Those will seem like lucid and rational thoughts within a week.

Actually, what you get at FYF are a select few combo douchey + punk types who are fashioncore to the max, trying not to get dust all over their black ensemble.

Royal Pagoda is already booked up. NOOOOOOO

Edit: now that I think about it, the late start times make it easier to stay at my girlfriends house in koreatown and just take the train in. so...false alarm

Yes, and the later start time makes it more feasible this year. Wurstkuche was a great way to lay down a giant beer/sausage/amazing fries base for all the boozing we ended up doing. I'd also be open for Angel City if they have a food truck or two. But Wurstkuche seems like a good tradition.
At least in *my* awesome opinion.

This is the best way to do it. The metro makes things so easy from K-Town.
