Thread: FYF Fest 2013

Sooo....Moderat was added to Electric Zoo the weekend after this. Is there any chance at Moderat at FYF, like in the SMD slot from last year?

Also I just came across this...I understand it's on the other side of the country, but gives a good idea of the type of bands that Sean likes to get that could play this as well...

Lineup looks awesome. Could definitely see Kid Dynamite, Boysetsfire, Modern Life Is War, Tragedy, Suicide File, and/or Negative Approach.

Hoping to see Judge, American Nightmare, and Title Fight added. Best hardcore fest in America.

I love that FYF brings real hardcore to the fest every year and not the image conscious shite that warped tour touts around the country every year.

I could see Local Natives filling in Desaparecidos or Twin Shadow's slot time from last year

Last year when they asked who people wanted to play, I tweeted Moderat and this was the reply:

    FYF Fest ‏@FYFFEST 18 Feb 12

@BlazinNathan We love Moderat. Remember we are doing a show with Apparat on March 12th at the El Rey. Will be amazing

The Robert Pollard facebook page just updated that there will be a Guided by Voices related announcement Monday. and I heard they are playing a festival this year.

Breeders + Guided by Voices would get me there for sure.

Anyone think Neutral Milk Hotel is possible? I somehow doubt it, seems like their tour announcement came too late for this fest, but who knows.

GBV played in 2011. Would they come back to FYF so soon?

10th anniversary? You're right, they did play FYF recently, and all the info I have is that they are going to announce a festival date Monday. So I could be wrong. Maybe they want to play a show with the Breeders, there's a lot of history there.

Anyone think Ghost is playing? They're at Lolla in early August and in Mexico in mid September, without any dates in between. Also Melvins are a tour date lock, they'll be a sping st stage nighttime act.

I'm hoping for Iceage, The Men, Titus Andronicus, Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, Yo La Tengo, Deerhunter, Swans, Make Up..... If they somehow pull MBV or Neutral Milk Hotel I'd be ecstatic

FYF won't be able to handle "no photography/video" policy Next week is going to be amazing with both FYF & Rock the Bells lineup coming out!

    Add Wire to my wishlist.

I think Tijuana Panthers are pretty much a lock with their new album coming out and FYF Fest promoting them pretty heavily. Which is good because I liked their set a lot in 2011.

Julia Holter is playing a Sunday night in Culver City on June 9th. You should come up for it, it will be great.

I have no idea how to get tickets though, and her agent never replied when I sent out an email asking.

Titus Andronicus would make me very happy.

Unfortunately, MBV i don't see happening as they're touring Europe around that time.

Whatever, I still need to see them in an indoor venue, i'll be there when they announce a west coast date. I wasn't able to see them when they were touring in 2009 (except for Coachella)..

Indoor venue is a completely different experience. I couldn't in good conscience recommend approaching one of those sets without earplugs: I'm pretty sure my hearing is worse for having done so once.
