Not holding my breath for a great new Beach Boys album, but seeing Brian and the Boys pull out the Sloop John B's and the Heroes and Villains etc etc could be very special indeed.

I do have to say recently released Smile Sessions deluxe package is pretty sweet...
It’s official: The Beach Boys will reunite for what’s being billed as “a global 50th Anniversary CELEBRATION in 2012.” This includes the previously reported new studio album, commemorative catalog releases with Capitol/EMI, and a 50-date international tour that begins on April 27th at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
This is seriously happy news. Sweet.
I'm all for a Beach Boys reunion but that clip on their website sounds fucking awful.
I know Brian Wilson isn't all there mentally, and Ive seen videos of him live lately and although his voice still sounds decent, he does look extremely bored on stage... yet I cant help but be extremely excited by this. I will be going to one of these shows. No question. No band can put a smile on my face like The Beach Boys.
One of the single greatest performances I've seen was Brian Wilson's Pet Sounds at the Hollywood Bowl w/ Wondermints backing him up. But I farkin hate Mike Love. And without Carl it isn't exactly a full on Beach Boys reunion (don't throw Dennis in there either). And Brian Wilson's Smile tour was awesome too. He's not all there mentally- ran into him at a Sav-On in Sherman Oaks once and tried to say hello... hoo boy- but musically, he's a legend and author of some of the very greatest American songs ever written. I'll see him anytime I have the chance.

I was at the Tucson show. They sounded great, especially on the limited number of Pet Sounds songs they played. I went with a group of friends and we all had a blast.
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.
I went to the show in Tucson and had a great time. It really was a fantastic show. Just wish the people on the lawn would've stood up instead of sitting down the entire time.

I have tickets for the show at the Greek in Berkeley. Sounds like I won't regret the decision to go.

Don't Worry Baby and God Only Knows were definitely the highlights of the show for me.

I think Mike Love said before the tour that they would focus more on their hits, rather than a majority of Pet Sounds or Smile songs. He's on record not being the biggest fan of Smile, so the set list will probably be something close to the first show, a kind of career spanning set list.

I'm just glad to see the remaining members together on a stage, and hearing "God Only Knows" and "In My Room" would be nice.
I would love to here '' That's not me ", and '' I'm waiting for the day", when I see them in May.
