I'm pretty sure we've found a new parlor game. WHO'S BIGGERin America?
I'll get things rolling:
A Perfect Circle or The xx?
Atoms for Peace or Sigur Ros?
Go on.... or Shut the fuck up?
QOTSA or Phoenix?
NIN or Tool?
Mumford & Sons or Green Day?
Know-nothing Assholes claiming Muse and the Killers will headline or Know-nothing Assholes claiming Nine Inch Nails and Daft Punk will headline?
Gesaffelstein or Brodinski?
Molly+2C-B or Molly+Shrams?
Blur or The Stone Roses? [Trick question]
Monklish or Indiechella?
Daft Punk or The Rolling Stones?
The Do Lab or The Heineken Dome?
Stacey in the pool house or Stacey in the dugout? [or Linda in the cafeteria if you happen to be a carrot]
THE REAL QUESTION:
As far as everyone crying NIN or Daft Punk, I've been told that NIN is a serious possibility being that they, themselves, were looking to be booked. Whether or not they were, at this point, is as unknown to me as anyone else. But I do trust my source. Daft Punk, as far as I am concerned, is just another pipedream that is brought up like every other year.
Come on why would Goldenvoice want to book a reunited NIN when they could just book The Killers and Muse to headline again like Motorave says.....
A Slowdive reunion would be so cool. Neil Halstead said a reunion is possible, and Coachella would be perfect.
Just out of curiosity, how confident are you about all this MotorAve? I don't like getting involved in all these pre-lineup arguments because they're a lot of silly bullshit. The Killers would annoy the fuck out of me but I can't say that it sounds beyond the realm of possibility--queer as they are, they're I guess one of the bigger current rock acts. But for Muse to play supporting an album that came out the year before and only three months after two shows at Staples seems... well, extremely out of sorts. I'm not even sure I can think of any headliner who played when their latest release had come out the prior year.
By "how confident are you about all of this," I mean to say let's put something on the line. Gentleman's wager? Loser gets the others' dickhead.
