I've watched a few of their performances on video and I am confused as to how I would actually take this live. On one end, their shows look very interesting and unique, but on the other hand, I could see a full set getting boring. Perhaps it's more entertaining in person.

This would totally rule! I have always kicked myself for missing them at the Hollywood Bowl due to Sunday Comic Con traffic when they opened for Thievery Corp and The Flaming Lips(Os Mutantes were playing their last song as we were entering the Bowl :-(

Mojave would be awesome, but I think they would have to be either on the Main or Outdoor.

Yeah, Mojave is ideal, but probably Outdoor. Their setup on the Cubism tour was pretty big.
You can see them moving the pieces around in this vid.

I just watched about an hours worth of material from their 2009 O2 arena gig. I'm not that big on Pet Shop Boys but I'd be down if they were in a tent, the mojave would be my guess. I really liked that setup.
