I'm sure that guiding principal could be adjusted for a festival with dozens and dozens of acts, but I'm not sure MacKaye would be willing to play any show that costs hundreds of dollars to attend.

Theres a difference between paying 300 dollars to go to a festival then paying 15 dollars to go to a local show.
