The only rock music on the radio in NYC is a classic rock station that circulates the anthem, "Time of Your Life" by Green Day. What does KROQ play? Is it a range from Metallica to Passion Pit, or is it a bit more on the indie/pop side?

I feel so lucky to have KALX in the Bay Area, it's no set genre but they tend to play a ton of indie / contemporary stuff.

Mostly 90's 00's and new alternative rock, radio friendly songs though. They'll play some Metallica, Passion Pit, Muse, Radiohead, Lumineers, Fun. Every now and then you get some Gorillaz or something.
