That's ridiculous and urban isn't slang for black person. FM radio stations around the country have marketed toward "urban" communities and created what they think are urban formats decades, it tends to mean inner cities, urbans can be those who live there or fall into urban radio formats, or urban clothes styles. If you knew where I lived I live in urban Phoenix. Why would I go up to a stranger and say "hey you URBAN"...... wtf sense does that make?

"Urban audiences" means inner-city audiences, which in most cities means black audiences. That's not a fucking secret goddammit, it's a term they invented in order to not sound racist when talking about marketing to a black demographic.

This from he guy who once said he walked into a bar filled with black people and walked right out or hypothetically would based on feeling awkward. I'm comfortable in my skin and I can discuss language and the use of words all day. Just because you don't find the word comfortable , does not mean it is a racist term or that it's ignorant to use. Sure it would be ignorant to walk up to a person and ignorantly call them "urban" but why would that even happen? Who would do something like that? If it's truly a racist term then teach me how this became the case historically?

I use the word because it's a funny word to me, it's also a music fest where people seem to be hypothesizing that we need a black artists on one of the nights headlining which is ridiculous in itself. By me saying an urban headliner i'm mocking those people and calling back urban music formats which actually opens it up from being "black" to any R&B, Hip Hop or Urban Contemporary artist.

Singer Morrissey has turned down yet another attempt by bosses of the Coachella rock festival to reunite his former band The Smiths.

The Suedehead hitmaker is dogged by frequent rumours the cult 1980s band is planning a comeback, and organisers of the California music event have twice offered him a bumper payday for a reunion gig.

They even promised the staunch vegetarian they would ban meat from the Coachella site if he agreed to reform The Smiths in 2010, but the singer and his former songwriting partner Johnny Marr are adamant they will never revisit their past.

It has now emerged festival bosses have not given up on their dream and recently approached Morrissey about headlining the 2013 event, but he has turned them down again.

In a statement, a spokesman for the star says, "Morrissey has refused a Smiths headline offer for this year's Coachella Festival."
