I felt really bad for them. I was one of those people walking through their set at one point....I just remember looking toward the stage and there was maybe 30-40 people and it made me feel awkward.

Between how bad they are and going up against Gotye, The Weeknd, and Nero I am surprised that there was anyone even in the tent at all.

Once, in college, I had this physics teacher who comes in the first day and his voice and mannerisms were so affected by a stroke that it was painful to listen to him, because you just felt so horrible for the guy, and at the same time you couldn't understand a word he was saying. The next class, I would say there were 15 or so still enrolled after an initial number of 120. I felt so terrible about the drop in numbers, and I was so sad for him, that I couldn't force myself to switch sections after that, despite that you could barely understand anything in his lectures and essentially had to teach yourself.

I would imagine similar tensions ran high for any poor soul who happened to stray through the Gobi between 7:10 and 7:55 on Sunday night.

Oh god do I miss these videos. We used to watch them endlessly. Every time a new friend came into the group who hated ICP's music we would just show them Stranglemania to help explain why they were awesome.

Didn't they get sort of dicked over with set time when they played 2009? Like went up against somebody that influenced them? Too lazy to look where they played, but I remember being told they had a really bad slot.

Sets that end the night are the toughest just because of the juggernauts going on the main and the Sahara. I wasn't there, but somebody said the Scala and Kolacny crowd was devastatingly small.

People still bitch about it, but the Jay-Z/deadmau5 (back when everybody liked him)/Fever Ray/PiL/Whitest Boy Alive conflict had full crowds for four of the sets, and by all accounts PiL didn't seem to care that their crowd was smaller (small for the outdoor, anyway). I feel like to close a tent you have to have such a niche that would draw somebody away from the other huge acts going on.

God, I remember looking up every artist on that video and making some shitty CD I burned from who knows where (Kazaa?) and listening to it over and over again. We took the train to LA so many times playing that CD.

This story has me in tears, funniest thing on this thread after the amazing Ultimate Warrior promo and Bobby the Brain Heenan screaming "THE VULTURE! LOOK AT THE VULTURE!" during the Undertakers intro. Thanks for this.
