Look. Yes it is a polo ball. While polo balls are not historically stone, this one looks oddly stone like to me. Based on the track marks it appears it was rolling recently.

I don't want to sound like I'm siding with moto rave but yes. The stones said they wanted to see how the Dec shows went first, that has been publicly stated by Keith and Mick. So it is not to far fetched to think once those shows concluded, GV started to discuss further tour details with the stones.
What do you think GV is going to say "oh well, we already started to make a pretty poster can't change it now, maybe next year"
No, if the stones became available the day before the lineup i'm sure GV would still pursue them if they wanted the band to play.
