2013 Lineup Confirmation/Rumors Thread

So since there are no videos, we need something to argue about. Can we start bitching about billing and stage placement for hypothetical acts that may or may not be on the lineup. I'll start. What slot would The Stone Roses be booked to play.

Second line 4th or 5th on their day. Main Stage a little before 7:00 like Noel Gallagher last year.

Trying to figure out how much room there is for 2nd line subs that aren't in the Sahara. I feel like there have been strong rumors for most of them.

What about Beach House. The show in SF sold out in like 2 seconds. Are they big enough for the end of the 2nd line, top of the 3rd line? Outdoor?

QOTSA, Sigur Ros, Grizzly Bear, Passion Pit, deadmau5 (not rumored really but he'll be there), Yeah Yeah Yeahs (unless they headline out of nowhere) all seem 2nd line to me these days.

The entire second line billing for Saturday 2011 confuses me to this day. Although Mumford looks right in retrospect, but that shit looked off in the day.

Where did the XX come from, outside of just being an obvious choice. Atoms for Peace and Blur absolutely, but AFP seems like a wishful thinking rumor unless I am missing something more concrete. Nick Cave would have to be second line, but it'd be unfair to stick him on the main, too hard to get into for most people, throw him on the outdoor and get a crowd that accurately cares about his stuff (ie, me).

I just assume that The xx will be hitting tons of festivals this year so they seem pretty likely to me. I agree that Nick Cave would be on the outdoor for sure.

They could also be this year's TV on the Radio/Fleet Foxes and not show up, despite being the most obvious booking choice. I'm almost leaning toward that.

Oh that's a good hypothetical. Mojave for sure, I don't even see another option. If Fever Ray was third line, then I'd say The Knife is the last name on the second.

Yeah that is true and there are only so many available second line spots. I am seeing them next month so I am good either way.

They blew their wad with last year's cheesefest. I bet it will look like 2011 in terms of Sahara level starpower and billing. Have deadmau5 close the main, then throw Pretty Lights, Boys Noize, Bassnectar, Knife Party somewhere near the tail end of the 2nd, and 3rd lines. That Hardwell guy seems to be pretty huge too. And there you have it. A Sahara that will still satisfy bros but won't cost a trillion dollars. Plus I know everybody on this board has at least one guilty pleasure somewhere in that list.
