Although maybe they won't be there, has anybody seen the tour dates? Do they match?
It's like Groundhog Day in this bitch
They are sadly one of those bands who would probably be billed higher than they are really worth. Most likely the third line on any given day.
QOTSA, Sigur Ros, Grizzly Bear, Passion Pit, deadmau5 (not rumored really but he'll be there), Yeah Yeah Yeahs (unless they headline out of nowhere) all seem 2nd line to me these days.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Grizzly Bear at the end of the second line. They will be billed really high. I mean hell, Animal Collective SUBBED once.
No way Passion Pit makes the second line. Just no. At least not when they're competing against the likely hood of Blur, YYY, Qotsa, Sigur Ros, Deadmau5, Grizzly Bear, etc.
The entire second line billing for Saturday 2011 confuses me to this day. Although Mumford looks right in retrospect, but that shit looked off in the day.
Where did the XX come from, outside of just being an obvious choice. Atoms for Peace and Blur absolutely, but AFP seems like a wishful thinking rumor unless I am missing something more concrete. Nick Cave would have to be second line, but it'd be unfair to stick him on the main, too hard to get into for most people, throw him on the outdoor and get a crowd that accurately cares about his stuff (ie, me).
I wouldn't be surprised to see Atoms of Peace subbing on whatever day, assuming they play.
Also I'm sorry, but I just don't see Nick Cave being on the second line....but then again, Manu Chao and noisy background band subbed under Rage...so who knows.
If Mazzy Star can get on the second line, anybody can. It's science.
Slash how many people are going to go berserk when they see Knife Party and for a split second think it's The Knife.
We also really haven't had many rumors of who the terrible top line Sahara acts are going to be. Maybe Bassnectar and Pretty Lights? It's been three years since they have played.

They blew their wad with last year's cheesefest. I bet it will look like 2011 in terms of Sahara level starpower and billing. Have deadmau5 close the main, then throw Pretty Lights, Boys Noize, Bassnectar, Knife Party somewhere near the tail end of the 2nd, and 3rd lines. That Hardwell guy seems to be pretty huge too. And there you have it. A Sahara that will still satisfy bros but won't cost a trillion dollars. Plus I know everybody on this board has at least one guilty pleasure somewhere in that list.
Where would the xx play? 3rd from last on main? Pulp/Shins spot?
