Regardless, they shouldn't play Coachella again. Not because they don't deserve to, but because they suck.
PingPong Bitches are still the worst act I have ever seen at Coachella.
I also saw about 10 minutes of Oasis and it was vomit inducing.
if you think sts9 sucks you must live a very sad life
Damn looking back on that Saturday bill, I'd be down for the same exact lineup on either Friday or Saturday this year. Chems, Groove Armada, Bjork, J5, QOTSA, Dan The Automator, Cake, Pharcyde, SashaxDigweed.
Darkside - 1/26
Robert DeLong - 1/30
Scuba - 2/7
Pusha T - 2/20
Four Tet - 3/7
Kraftwerk - 3/19
Coachella - W1
Side note: I also met up with friends in the Gobi tent before heading over to watch Justice this year and The Airplane Boys were playing to a crowd of about 30. That set has to be up there with worst ever too. I felt embarrassed for them. Thankfully, the friends showed up in about 10 minutes.
4/27 Ghost B.C. @ Fonda, 4/30 Mono @ Troubadour, 5/3 I Break Horses @ Bootleg Theater, 5/19 Lykke Li @ The Theatre at Ace, 5/28-6/1 Primavera Sound, 6/18-22 Sled Island, 8/2 Burger a-Go-Go
Next season, there should be a 'worst performance' thread.

sorry, i don't acknowledge 2001 or 2002. that year is only noteworthy to me for having missed Kosheen. and that's it.
i watched a few minutes of Airplane Boys for shits & giggles... it had the smallest crowd in modern coachella history. and they went on just before sunset, not 1pm and not during a headliner or subheadliner.
it was also the worst act i've seen at coachella, easily beating A$AP Rocky, AWOLNATION, SHM, Amon Tobin, Nero, Cee Lo, Skrillex, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, TRAV$vsDJ-AM, Steve Aoki, Roni Size Reprazent, Enter Shikari, the Breeders, and Air..who are the most disappointing sets i've seen at Coachella. and the first one that was bad. embarrassingly bad. they weren't even performing to the dozen or so people in the tent, but to the thousands that were walking past, trying to bring them in. i didn't see anybody else besides me go into the tent in the 10min or so i was there, and about half left after the first and second song.
as it is, i think the only reason they got that time slot was because The Midnight Beast cancelled..
naw, somebody at GV just really likes shit like Die Antwoord, and they book british rappers a lot, almost all have cancelled though (the Streets, Jaime T, Midnight Beast), Plan B didn't though..
It was annoying for me because Gotye was playing a smaller tent next door and I couldn't get in (went over partway through after The Weeknd I think), I actually cared about all of their set and not just Somebody I Used to Know. If they were in the Mojave instead maybe I could have actually watched them.
Philip Glass Ensemble - Philip Glass - Tycho - William Tyler - Nickel Creek - Jandek - Liars - The Mountain Goats - Arcade Fire - Swans
it wasn't a smaller tent, but yeah, Gotye was packed. the only other time i've seen the Mojave like that was La Roux. They had nobody on Main the majority of Gotye's set, Sahara was shit, and Airplane Boys were in the Gobi...what the fuck they expect 20,000 radio fans to go?
like i said 'disappointed' in.. Amon Tobin has a great setup, for a club or theater. it was too small for the Mojave, and unless u were right up front, it didn't fill the space. had high expectations. i tried, both weekends, kept walking away.. i hear 2.0 is a much better set though
i'm an idiot for being disappointed in an act that i saw? it wasn't one of the top 5 sets of the wknd. but it was in my top 5 must-sees.
go fuck yourself.
many of the other acts i named in that sentence are great as well, but their coachella sets were underwealming, or had sound problems. jesus, can u imagine the shitstorm had i put the chem bros dj set on there?
