The huge explosion in EDM's popularity has made them superstars. They'd be closing out the entire festival on Sunday night if they were booked (which I doubt considering the album isn't done, which means they probably don't have a stage or live mix to play yet either). I don't think there's a single act that would have a bigger draw than Daft Punk at this moment in time.
There's a reason they're the only artists to have a "DP IS PLAYING THIS YEAR" rumor at all the big festivals every single year.
my last one before it's announced i reckon as i don't really have a clue on this fest.
Eminem
Mumford & Sons
RHCP/Tool
With Blur as a sub, The Stone Roses, QOTSA, Two Door Cinema Club, Of Monsters and Men, The Lumineers, The Gaslight Anthem and possibly Jack White to appear across the weekend.
jack seems to sit on the KROQ lineup where recent bands have played Coa before though. Doesn't seem to necessarily mean that it's the top billing band to headline the following coa either.
Like Black Keys and Mumford were but were not headliners in 2011
Black Keys, Vampire Weekend and Brandon Flowers in 2010 but were not headers
Muse in 09 were mind, and the cure in 08.
so more recently, it's the band before headliner that does it. and with the killers doing april 13th/14th in mexico only leaves them the friday, makes them unlikely, this said, they are doing two sets of days dates straight, one lot in america this weekend another 3 end feb/start march in europe
what?
I think
Eminem
Mumford
RHCP
is the worst case scenario.... like if ALL went wrong and all rumored headliners dropped out.

Klein, dude, I grew up listening to Kevin and Bean and Dr. Drew and Ricki and poorman and all and no shit its good radio.
You have to understand dude, back then they were playing Nirvana and Radiohead and NIN and all the good shit from the time. Admit that they don't play the relevant music of the day. Admit it.
But whenever I put on kroq they play muse, rhcp, foster the people, linkin park, fun., nirvana, foo fighters, blink 182, and awolnation. I know there's more I could name but they keep it relevant
Muse is a boring sucky pretentious radiohead
RHCP have been broken for over a decade and were never all that good from the get go atleast compared to their peers
foster the people are overrated and KROQ plays that one song OVER AND OVER AGAIN
fun is hipster trash
foo fighter had one good debut in the 90's and have sucked since
blink 182 ... come on man
I love the ADD song
even 8 year ago they were playing Arcade Fire and Bright Eyes and Modest Mouse when those bands were doing good shit.
How come you never hear Animal Collective on KROQ. How come you never hear St. Vincet. Just to throw out randoms...
BECAUSE THE INTERNET KILLED THE RADIO STAR. that's why. and KROQ doesn't know what to do now except cater to teeny boppers in the hopes that y'all keep them financially afloat.
