It looks mildly cool and all, but it's just another one of those money-grabbing gimmicks where you pay to run a couple miles.

Here's one review I found

GAWD, THIS EVENT SUCKED. IT WAS NO WHERE CLOSE TO BEING AN ELECTRIC RUN. the music was not loud enough, there were not enough speakers throughout the location, and there was not a lot of lighting. worst of all, there was a barn in the middle of the venue, so as i was passing by that part, i smelled animal manure. the location was poorly used. at the end of the run, there was a long tunnel with minimal lighting. they could have used this tunnel to have a rave or something, considering the music they played was trance/techno and people had glowsticks. i had high expectations for this event because of the way it was advertised. i was VERY disappointed. electric run, please don't waste orange county's time next year. thanks.

It's pretty cool. I went to one a few months ago at the OC Fairgrounds. Some people really go all out and they do a good job of lighting up the course. It's really hard to run without spilling your beer though.

I wonder which one they went to. There have been a few in the OC area. I don't recall smelling animal waste. Maybe he/she needed to be with a funner group of people.
