Beach House put out a remarkable album this year. And they haven't played since 2010, so it's not like they played both this year and last.

their album was pretty good but it was also really forgettable.

I didn't really care for Stars when I saw them live. I was pretty let down but I got to see California wives open so that made up for it

I think two of last years headliners were more of a 'get' than this years predictions so I guess it's possible.

The fact that The Stones never refuted the Coachella date on their official app is a good sign that will be playing (cue Motorave lol post) Of course I would love Daft Punk, but it doesn't sound like their album will be done by Coachella and there have been those statements by eurofest promoters saying that they aren't playing shows this year.

they were lackluster at Coachella '08, they had one good single at the time, but they also had a crappy daytime Main stage slot when they should have been in a tent

I have no concrete proof other than the email my brother in law sent me and those were the only names he had to offer. My bro in law is from LA so its not a far stretch to say that he would be friends with someone in the industry. Alas, we won't know until the lineup is out if the source is credible or not. If it's legit yay, if not who cares.

Yeah, not crazy about the live show I saw of Stars' a few years back, despite really liking the album they were touring under. I chose to see them over seeing The Dandy Warhols down the street, and I generally feel that I made the wrong choice.

all this Stars talk (please don't bring em back GV), reminded me that they were the ones responsible for me seeing Deadmau5 for the first time..I went to Main to watch Stars->Gogol Bordello, and after 'take me to the riot' i left since the set was so awful, caught half of mau5, and on the way back to Main heard Duffy doing 'Mercy'..


if that lineup was this year, i would've skipped all of those acts and watched The Field in the Gobi.

don't get me wrong, i fully expect all live acts to be in the mojave..and the biggest names on main. but i'd be surprised is any of these djs weren't in the sahara (although it does happen time to time)

the few leaks we've gotten have been a diff quality imo than last year..plus, i'm half expecting different booking of the sahara this year after all the massive complaints the sahara got last year..every year, gv does an amazing job of fixing that year's biggest complaints, and the sahara lineup was pretty much the only one this time around.

I agree with you on Daft Punk (maybe) not having their album ready for Coachella, but a good sign is that they released all their album in the 1Q of the year:

Homework: January 20, 1997
Discovery: March 12, 2001
Human After All: March 9, 2005
(Alive and Tron obviously should not be taken into consideration)

So if they do have a new album to release lets hope they continue with this so its out before Coachella

plenty of acts have played or headlined coachella without the new album being out yet
