no, i said i think they're subheadlining this year. and i never said 'should' i don't even like bloc party.

They weren't headliners obviously, but didn't Portishead, and Pixies play the Glass House during their years? Same for MBV maybe too, I dunno....whatever the case, basically a major subheadliner can play the glasshouse, not out of the realm that a "smaller" headliner could (though YYY's are not headlining).

ur right about pixies, but i'm pretty sure the portishead show (which was just a rehearsal) was in LA not at the glass house. But yes, thank you, that was exactly the answer to my question i was looking for. i'm predicting that YYYs are the sub for the Stones.

as far as Kendrick Lamar or Schoolboy Q not playing coachella because of paid dues, they're performing with ab-soul and jay rock as Black Hippy. I wouldn't say that disqualifies either of them from doing a solo set at chella, although i don't see Kendrick coming back until '14.

i would think this means that Immortal Technique and De La Soul will not be on the lineup though.

^ I hate to go by Facebook likes, but it does work in a sense. That doesn't always mean they will get the top 'headlining' spot due to being more popular.

This sounds plausible. I was making a point that it seems like the general consensus on the board has been that Phoenix can headline and Yeah Yeah Yeah's can't, even though they have a comparable fan base size. I could see them co-headline maybe.

in the daft punk 2013 thread, i posted an actual picture from nathan east's twitter showing he was recording back in march of 2011 at Conway Studios and people said that it was "too much info" to be believed. go figure.

the only one i can think of is Smashing Pumpkins in '05 i think..the Police rumors were a late add thing. and mayyybe the Neil Young rumors in 2010, but was that a headliner?

Stone Roses did sign a new US only music contract. I'm sure they want them here for more than a single stateside visit.

among their aspiration on this tour is making some US dent beyond those that imported UK music rags in the US over the past 20+ years.

Do the Stone Roses have many songs about nighttime?

A proper gig by them needs an hour and fairly darkness for a decent light show. There's some 2012 daylight soundcheck footage if you want to see a boring presentation. Packed tent could work or more like main/outdoor during/after sundown.

well, i was speculating that it could drop january 8th (tuesday) because the YYY's are playing that show at the Glasshouse in pamona that friday the 11th. Last year i believe it was at 5pm if im not mistaken.

Nope. The pre-sale password for Coachella tickets was "Roxanne" because there was so much buzz about them being there. People kept on saying they would be a late add due to the password.
