I just can't imagine GV would care enough about a third RHCP headlining spot that they'd make sure and have them booked up a year in advance.

A Green Day/RHCP headliner combo possibility doesn't have me optimistic.

RHCP would have already played most North American markets by then, with 2 notable exceptions: Nevada and Mexico. If your wondering what they might do with a week off.

This brings up a topic I've seen hinted at here and elsewhere a couple times. "Back up headliners" when promoters chase some big fish who might pull out before announcement like Prince/Who/Sabbath. GV did land some exclusive headliners with Prince, RAGE and Dre and to a lesser extent Jane's/Gorillaz. Look at the Coldplay/RHCP links and they could have been headliners in 2012(April 13-15/20-22) with a couple shuffled dates - Foo Fighters/Bjork also have both weekends open last year.

if the rumours of The Who coming to terms then cancelling Coachella in December 2009 are true, I could see them being "blacklisted".

The Killers' tour is being promoted by Goldenvoice.

That to me is a huge indicator for Coachella 2013. Especially after that comment about Australia outside lands (sorry if that's not the name of the tour - but you know what I mean)

Anyone who is playing in Los Angeles with Goldenvoice promoting is a very good sign. That's why I'm skeptical about Fiona Apple...

I too thought they were a lock last year. I'm convinced (or I convinced myself) they could'nt make it due to their introdction in the RnR HOF which fell on the dates of Coachella.
