My big halloween event is going to be a free Flaming Lips concert at the OKC Zoo (same place as the UFO's at the Zoo dvd)
I am going as a psychedelic frog. I am considering making my frog head similar in style to how they make Deadmau5 heads.

Since this is costume ideas : Jumanji (was a hit) Zombie - anything, such as Disney characters, movie stars, pretty much anything turned zombie is amazing. I was a blue macaw one year, that was fun. I saw this girl who was Freddie Mercury, that was pretty awesome.

Oh hey new thread. I'm going to be Lumpy Space Princess. I am thinking about getting an enormous purple shirt or dress and stuffing it with small balloons, dying my hair purple, painting my face purple with a yellow star on my forehead, and wearing black tights (she floats).

My group of friends is going as the cast of the Matrix. I am going to be the lady in Red, my bf will be Morpheus and we will also have Neo, Trinity, agent Smith, and
Persephone (Monica Bellucci) and her husband in the movie. I am actually pretty excited!

i really think this is the year to do maleficent. i ready somewhere disney might make a maleficent with angelina jolie, so i need to get this out of the way before they redo the best disney villain ever (well, ursula is pretty fabulous).







it's basically robes with long sleeves, so most of the work i am focused on is in the head piece. i'd want a giant, structured collar of course, but i'd probably need a full head mask thing for the head piece with two wing looking things from the side of the head and the horns. i really want to incorporate my hair into the horns as i love taking an extra two hours before bed to comb all that shit out.

anyway, not sure if i should make or buy. the robe would be super easy to make compared to shit like slave leia or selena. but the head piece stuff would require specific materials; especially the spandex head piece, under what name would you search for that? i could buy and just spend more time modifying than creating from scratch. since i'm recovering from surgery, i probably shouldn't get too adventurous. but i've had this idea for years and want it to look great.

i'd prolly buy this one and cut holes in the head for my hair. i'm just afraid no matter if i make or buy, robes are going to look absolutely dreadful on me since i'm curvy.

though i don't like the edges. i do like the concept of the bottom of this, but not really the rest. i'm not trying to go slutty. i want to stick to the robes since that's such a big part of her aesthetic.

I have also always wanted to do maleficent! You should make everything! It would look great!!! because there is so much black you it will look great! I have a great concept if you don't use your hair for the horns. You could get spandex and underneath the spandex use a light wire mesh to make giant awesome light weight horns and then you could use latex to attach the spandex to you so it looks like its attached like in the photo. Sorry if that doesnt make sense. You could paint your face green (obviously) you can also use the wire mesh for the collar too! Just some ideas. This is my favorite time of year to craft and I love collaborating ideas with people! Good luck!

I would love for my husband and I to go as Commander Straker and Lt. Ellis. I think it would be hilarious. His costume would be reasonably easy to acquire (Nehru suits can be found on Ebay). Purple wig is easy, but I have no idea where to find a silver unitard for the base of my outfit (I've looked). Biggest obstacle would be that 99.99% of the population would not get it, and that kinda takes the fun out of it. :/

It's from UFO, a 70's British sci-fi TV show by Gerry Anderson (he did that show with the marionettes, Thunderbirds, too). We loved it as kids; it's wonderfully campy (now, it wasn't then) and ridiculous and fun. The costumes alone are hysterical.

He is, isn't he? Those enormous bright blue eyes. He was American actor Ed Bishop. A bit of trivia, Lt. Ellis is Gabrielle Drake, Nick Drake's sister.

I don't know that you can find the series online. We bought the DVD's from amazon.
