I feel as if maybe you should re-listen to some of the catalog, I'm not exactly sure where you got the dubstep idea. But it's deff more downtempo, nujazz.

Oh, I'm quite familiar with his catalog. He's my favorite IDM/downtempo aritst. Moomoo and a few others have seen him DJ and that's where I got my info from. I would love to be wrong.

well I've only seen him dj once, and that was at LiB in '11. Deff more of a house set, w/ his own tracks mixed in here and there. I think he has the talent to do what he wants depending on the crowd and environment.

I would hate it if both parties settled for a fucking DJ set. He's one of my favorite artists, but a DJ set is a waste IMO. Might as well book Basement Jaxx/Underworld DJ sets while we're at it.

Why the hate on Bonobo DJing?
I say let him do whatever act he feels most creatively driven on at that point in time, I get sick of fans demanding an artist play a certain set or song like some jukebox instead of letting them express themselves how they wish.
I would probably say I would personally PREFER a Bonobo live set, but he's awesome either way.
He's very passionate about DJing so if he wants to do that let's not be selfish and instead just enjoy the show.

Way, way lesser known acts have played Coachella before though. Also, I don't think his popularity has really changed all that much in recent years. Doesn't appear as so, anyway.

Yeah maybe I just think he's getting more popular because my friends have really gotten into his music in the past year or so. I've seen people that I'm friends with on Facebook listening to his music recently too though, especially Black Sands.

I normally dislike doing this... but how would y'all rank his albums? Personally, I think Animal Magic is his best. By a long shot, actually. I've been finding that most critics disagree though. Thoughts?

I'd like to point out I do like Black Sands a lot... it's just my least favorite as a whole.

I feel like the order changes all the time. Dial M is usually on top, but sometimes Animal Magic...

That said, when I listen to Days to Come I think it's as good as anything else he's released.
