God, I feel like such a tard. So I pulled a muscle and hamstring strain. I went to the e.r. and had to get a shot in the ass cause the doctor said (ever so politely) that big guys would be better having the shot in that area. Ain't nobody got time fo that!

Trying to integrate running into my cardio, so I hopped on the treadmill for the first time in ages and ran a 10 min mile. I started to get slight shin splints, but not too bad-any tips to alleviate them/strengthen that area?

Also, what do you runners recommend to increase endurance and run a faster mile? Should I focus on short fast sprints, maintaining a consistent higher speed, or both?

I'm going to start a juicing regimen today. Not actual juicing the vegetables, but blending them together to retain fiber.
Juice consists of kale, carrots, radishes, celery, cucumber, ginger, coconut oil, red cabbage, broccoli, parsley, and lemon juice.
This juice will be breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a week. I can post the recipe if you're interested.

1 (1/4-inch) piece fresh ginger
1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

Blend.

The recipe does not include coconut oil. I am adding it to the juice so that it provides more balance and essential fats.
You can also substitute grass-fed butter for coconut oil.

Sounds intriguing, let us know how you feel. I've heard about terrible juice "hangovers" if people dont properly detox leading up to a cleanse.

man, i was doing pretty good this weekend until a boy came over last night to watch walking dead and we drank and ate a bunch of cheese dip. i cannot resist cheese dip when drunk.

Oh snap! You have to read the following story: At the gym this morning I was walking past the row of treadmills, getting warmed up and putting my headphones in, when all of the sudden - I heard this old lady (at least 60) yelling for help. I looked over and I saw that she had fallen off the treadmill and was half on the floor half flopping around on the tread. I quickly pulled the emergency stop and LOL'd.

My city got hit with 10 inches of snow yesterday. I shoveled my driveway in a couple of 45-minute intervals. I wonder how many calories that burned and how long of a run that would be comparable to?

MFP says that 45mins is 295 calories. I was shoveling that same shit here in Cali

My sister is doing some kind of cleanse where she has a shake 2x daily along with a healthy meal and is taking a series of supplements as well. She had a name for the program and I can't remember what she said it was, but she's away on vacation so I can't ask her. Does this sound familiar to anyone? She's lost about 12 lbs in 1.5 months.

I'm not sure, but the liquid meal replacement shakes seem to be making a big comeback. I've seen a lot of people doing that lately.

I'm doing a 30 day green smoothie challenge from YoungandRaw.com but it's just one smoothie a day, and fit into your regular diet rather than replacing a meal. Sometimes I add extra protein to mine and call it breakfast

ha, i know exactly what you mean. i have no willpower. i have to buy all my snacks as 100 calorie packs or i just go through a whole bag. those pretzel crisps are my enemy.

today is healthy treat day at work and I had some yogurt with granola mixed in. yummy! don't tell anyone, but I grabbed 2!!
