I prefer that one as I don't like the voice over and I do like the "I want more life, fucker" rather than the TV dub one gets in most other versions.

The extended version makes a hell of a lot more sense than the original release and all of the scenes add quite a bit even if it makes sense why they were cut. I am not sure which I prefer, really.

I just didn't care for many of the adds, and felt they were unnecessary or understood why they were cut. For example, the French plantation scene, finding the Playboy bunnies' helicopter, Kurtz reading Willard Time Magazine articles, etc. For a film that already ran almost two and a half hours that was enough for me. I can understand from a fan of the film's point of view wanting to see the footage, but really that's all. Maybe that's why I don't like many double albums. Trimming the filler.
