Yup. The OC promoter has an exclusive with Nina, but just for the OC. A PM from last evening:

The very idea that there's an "underground" contingent that Gary Richards chooses to showcase is fucking batty. That's not to say that there aren't artists on this lineup that might actually play at an underground, were someone to book them. The real shame is that LA/So Cal doesn't have enough promoters booking artists on the caliber of these "underground" acts. You people should be getting better talent in your area on a more frequent basis in smaller venues with longer set times to the point where such a large number of you don't have to throw up your hands and say, "Oh shit, well I guess I'll endure (whatever gripe you have with HARD events) just to see this act."

*I am aware that there is an underground scene in LA, and aware that ya'll get good talent booked every now and then.

Jorge -- do me a favor and PLEASE see Jackmaster if you do indeed go to this. That'll be a party.

    9/12: Shifted @ Mercer
    9/24 - 28: Decibel Festival
    10/3-5: Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival
    10/4: Ought @ BoH
10/5: The War on Drugs, Cass McCombs @ The Fillmore
    10/18-19: Treasure Island Music Festival

I've always said that we don't get enough better talent in L.A. and when we do it's not very frequently and always in big venues.

Didn't you just see Prydz? Like twice this year? Maya plays all the time. Seriously, if you're tiring of the crowd at events like this, it's time to try something new. Expand your horizons. You'll find a party you enjoy.

I did, and yes you're right.

But a Cirez D set is rare, and haven't seen a lot of these people in a long time, or not at all.

Unfortunately these artists are booked through HARD and not playing at better venues or festivals, which I would prefer.

That lineup is better than HARD Summer. Too bad I won't make it this year.

The acts are just regurgitated from event to event in SoCal. Give us something new.

I'll probably end up there on Saturday, despite the fact that Hard Summer was easily the biggest waste of money I've ever had the displeasure of spending.

this is a very solid lineup. impressed that they are doing an underground stage and the discotheque. both are fairly appealing
