Who else is attending this wonderful fest? Come find me during the weekend and you'll be treated to meeting my parents. Hang around long enough and my dad will regale you with uninteresting stories about Austin, TX before identifying Obama as a lying Socialist bent on making himself ruler for life.

    I'm not joking.

I can't believe this thing is gratis.

I would be all over this but need to be in Denver that weekend. Shit, I was sold on Costello acoustic set.

Del McCoury played with Preservation Hall at Newport last weekend and he sounded great.

Now I need to go to the bad mood thread.

Yeah man, Warren was a hell of a good guy for doing this.

Del played with PHJB last year, I'm excited to see he and his band do their own thing this time around.

I'm driving down to LA for the Max Cooper show that weekend but can maybe swing coming back up on Saturday to at least catch Sunday of this.

Tom - just a warning - people at this festival do not shut the fuck up.

Someone told me they don't sell beer at HSBG? You have to bring your own? Is this a true statement?

It's surprising to me that you wouldn't bold Heartless Bastards. They seem like a thing you would like.

Lack of bold means I'm just not all that familiar. Except for Glen Hansard. there it means he sucks.

I haven't heard many new alt-country-americana bands since 2005 or so.

I'm afraid welded wagons won't fit in my carryon.

I can't imagine lugging that around, but that does sound awesome.
I might just throw some liquor/mixed drinks/wine in a backpack.

This was just posted on the HSB facebook page, and it made me laugh.

Here's a textbook example of how NOT to get booked for the festival! We just received the following email from local band The Continental Breakfast Club:
"We're local right in your backyard and I sent a message to several of you and never received a response....why is that?
You should thank me for not embarrassing you by posting this as a comment on your Facebook page, you clicky, unsupportive, insider POS's."
Wow! You're welcome for the free festival, Scott!
