Also, has it been explicitly stated that they are selling the entire capacity to festival goers? Is that listed capacity for patrons only or does it also include employees and crew? Sure this boat has several hundred people just working on it.

Pulp already confirmed they will be playing 4 sets on the cruises, not 6, and the FAQ says most will play twice and doesn't say anything about thrice and beyond. The ship's listed capacity of 2886 passengers is in addition to the 1250 crew members.

Oh God, that would be some bullshit.
If the cruises aren't packed, then I guess it would be a non-issue. So far, the inside staterooms are gone, the 3 guest ocean view rooms are gone (but not the 2 guest), and all the veranda price levels seem to be available. 85% of the cabins on the ship have verandas, though, so it's hard to tell how those are selling. Since there's been so much backlash, maybe it won't sell out at all?

I wonder how many times black lips will play? I am sure ill see every act i want to see.I mean how many crazy pulp fans will actuslly be on this boat.
Celebrity Silhouette capacity: 2886 passengers
Sihouette theater capacity: 1115 passengers
So PULP can theoretically only play to 2230 of the 2886 passangers per trip.
656 attendees will be shut out if it's sold out or they care about PULP or other higher billed acts.
I'm not going but I'm wondering how many of the 2886 "passengers" are band members and their immediate crew that would be different than other cruises head counts. I'm also wondering if some people might "scalp" their spot/ticket so super fans could see them twice.
With such a small line-up it's possible for every band to perform a set every day of each cruise. Which is what I thought was going to happen. But let's see how this will go.
JAMAICA!!
Welcome aboard, mayo!

Count me out. Sent in my cancellation today. It's a long story, and it really sucks, but that's how it goes.
JAMAICA MON (plus three other girls). Have they taken this month's payment out of your accounts yet?
Not yet for me, and welcome!
Bummer, menik

I might be restating some obvious bits here but:
FYI - I chatted a representative and they said that they will be taking it out automatically on the 16th of every month (I thought I originally read they would take it out on the 15th). If you go in and make a payment manually before the 16th, they won't charge you twice but if you wait, they'll take it out automatically on the 16th. Just...putting that out there.
Also - we can't bring food or drink (even cases of water [aka-liquor]) onto the boat which surprised me. Guess that means we'll have to stay sober the entire 4 days, huh?!
There's a pre-auth for $250 on my card right now.

Add another for the Jamaica leg.....
WHOOT! WHOOT!
Welcome!
So, for all the newbies, what's your motivation for making the cruise? Been to landchella before?

Also attedning Jamaica Mon!!
My husband and I have been attending 'landchella' since we first heard of it in 2010....and are so disappointed in ourselves for not knowing about it in prior years, when the annoucement for SS Coachella came, we were ALL-ABOARD about attending!
I've only been to landchella once and it was this past April. We had an amazing time (probably in the top 10 list of life experiences)! So when we saw this announcement, we had been wanting to go on a cruise as a group but not necessarily a family-type cruise (what with all those pesky children clogging up the walkways) so we thought this would be perfect! I don't think I'm super stoked on the lineup, more just for the experience, but honestly, I wasn't stoked for the landchella lineup and it ended up being awesome so I'm sure I'll be eating my words by the end of the trip!
I'll be joining in the Bahamas with a couple of friends.
Welcome aboard.

Gosh, it's awfully quite on these boards for the cruise. I wonder if as we get closer people will get more interested or excited, or they are out there and we just don't know. I even have a message board going on Cruise Critic but not much activity there either.
perhaps there isn't much excitement
Well, I'm excited, and so are my stateroomies.

I am extremely excited for the Coachella Cruise! But I have a family reunion cruise I'm planning in late October...so that's sucking up my time!
Oooo, you are going to be busy this fall with all that cruising.
I'm also planning a family and family friends cruise for January 2014 and that's been keeping me busy. I know it's a ways off but we have people who need that long to either save the money and or vacation days. I think a cruise is the best way to go for family vacations.
Don't forget you want to get a direct flight in case of where ever you have a layoff there's the possibly of delays during the holiday season and depending how close to boarding time is to landing. I almost got a flight booked with Spirits Airlines based out of FLL since they're really cheap. Yet I started thinking about what they are going be able to provide to me as a customer and what not.Anyways I'm really excited to be down to my last payment and have my airline ticket done with.

I still need to book a flight. So expensive!
