The S.S. Coachella: an attempt to drain any remaining irony out of the song "Common People."

    Quick and approximate math:

    Plane tix to FL: 540
    2 days hotel: 100
    Ship tix: 700
    On ship expenses: 350

1710 total, which means you are spending 74 dollars to see Sleigh Bells.

Now I think the question is can Cage the Elephant headline S.S. Coachella?

This cruise thing doesn't appeal to me at all. But let's be fair, Brandon. Travel expenses and spending money shouldn't be lumped into the "price per act" equation.

Why not? It's all out of pocket money being spent on the same event.

Why not? You have to spend that amount to go see the act on the ship no?

I like to love about 85% of that lineup. But I'm probably not going on any cruises any time soon. If I had more disposable income, I would do this.

Same here. Fun Fun Fun fest is looking more likely since it's only $175 bucks.

You are paying a ticket price to see the bands and stay on the boat. The rest all depends on where you live and how much bullshit you buy. You might be paying $74 to see Sleigh Bells. Others might be paying less. Whatever. It doesn't really matter.

Who the fuck would pay $74 to see Sleigh Bells? I'm sure we can find an "alt" girl who will scream into a mic over Korn guitar chords for an hour for less than $30 for the whole package

Question: How long until Insomniac makes their own cruise ship party?

... HARD doing this, now Golden Voice. We just need Insomniac or UMF to throw their own cruise party to have a bunch of bros and hoes getting all cray on a ship and raging so hard they fall off.

Ah, Rill Rill. The one noteworthy song of theirs and they couldn't be bothered to play it in their 20 minute set.

Eh, i dont see the bro factor being as big a deal as at HARD. I'm guessing most bros would rather fist pump to Atrak than to Pulp.

I really like Sleigh Bells, but damn that's a blatant sampling job. Like Daft Punk level blatant.

There will be almost no bro. All of them think Holy Ship is the only musical cruise in the entire planet thats worthy. Give it til next year for them to get the bro crowd and theyll book Justice and Avicii.

This whole thing screams bro, I don't see how you can think otherwise

It's been there from the beginning.. the weak Britpop headliners Friday; the rumors that DP was gonna play, that it was a done deal, then all of a sudden 'oops, no, not gonna happen'; and now the new album. It's all so obvious.

So it will be all bro crowd because thats Pulp's main audience? You should see the comments on a lot of the edm sites who posted the story. ''wtf, this shit is weak, holy ship or nothing''.

Ya I don't think there will be a lot of bros there at all. Not a "bro" friendly lineup at all.

S.S. Coachella does not but anything UMF and Insomniac makes will hence the: "We just need Insomniac or UMF to throw their own cruise party to have a bunch of bros and hoes getting all cray on a ship and raging so hard they fall off."

Expect the line up to look something as follows: Benny Benassi, Afro Jack, Above and Beyond, Dada Life, some rando SHM dj, Avicii... you know the usual UMF and Insomniac shiz.
