Outkast is approaching that "never going to happen" category that is currently occupied by David Bowie, a Pink Floyd reunion, and a few other acts that have little-to-no chance of ever performing at Coachella. Andre 3000 apparently still lacks any desire to perform live, but still wants to do Gillette commercials and act. I expect to see Big Boi on the lineup though.

That being said, I cannot sign this thread enough in order to emphasize how much I would love to see Outkast headline.

I'm afraid you are right. OutKast is my most desired act to see at Coachella, and they have been my favorite group since seventh grade. That being said, Andre 3000 has absolutely no interest, and even if he did, it would be in favor of playing experimental new stuff and ignoring the classics. I remember reading an article years and years ago in high school (probably XXL or the Source, it was a strange time) about the future of the group, and even back then Andre said something to the extent of that the difference between him and Big Boi was [paraphrasing] "I will never play Player's Ball again in my life...he will play it every night for the rest of his life."

I get that artists should get to play whatever they want, but I'd hate it if what we finally got was a concert where they omit Rosa Parks/Skew it on the BBQ/ATLiens so Andre 3000 can do ten minutes of improvised scat singing. I don't think Big Boi will ever let that type of show happen, though, which is where I think the problem lies.

Regardless, the second I see that name on top of the poster, I will ignore any skepticism and geek out like a true fanboy.

Yeah Andre released that track with Frank Ocean a while back and Big Boi just recently added his verse. They really didn't work together on this.
