There's security checking bags and water caps at the gates and during Belle & Sebastian or Pulp they got a hook to try and remove the "#spanish revolution sing along with the common people" banner, but aside from that, pretty minimal.

Again, what security. In 2010 when I attended, all they cared about was if my water had a cap on it or not. They could care less about anything else. And after I got past them, I took the cap i had in my pocket and put it back on my water....

You realize the guy has never been before, right? it's totally possible to answer questions without being a total dickhead.

I have very little recollection of security last year. They were peeking in bags at the door for sure, but i don't remember if I was patted down or not, I didn't wear a bag and didn't have anything with me except for cigarettes, a lighter, and a money belt that they didn't not look inside. And the weather is so nice, even after the sun goes down at 10pm that i didn't need a sweatshirt. And security was definitely very minimal inside. Their main concern was at the Auditori where food and drinks are not allowed inside, and they have big lines there so they have maintain crowd control.

Also remember that you can go in and out of the festival as much as you want.

Just bought our tickets for Thurs-Saturday. So stoked to be finally checking this fest out! How hot does it get during the late afternoon? Glad to hear security isn't as tight as US Fests. Is it easy to find 'party favors' around Barcelona? (edit* nvm just read in thread, need to hang with some locals then haha) Are some of the stages pretty close to each other? Or is it a hike to go from stage to stage? As in not as easy as hopping around like say some of the tents at Coachella are, like Mojave to Gobi tents.

Also, drinks: Are you allowed to walk around the fests with alcoholic drinks? How much do drinks go for at Primavera?

Can't wait to see Animal Collective at 3am! My Bloody Valentine at 230am!! Love the schedule so far!

You'll not only be able to walk around with your drink, but will have people selling you beer right where you stand (as they have mobile barmen).

Fyf had mobile lemonade guys walking around in the middle of acts and people playing on stages. I remember having to ignore a dude screaming if anyone wanted lemonade as Atlas Sound played on one of the side stages. Pretty weird.

The mobile barmen have kegs strapped to their backs with flags, so they don't even have to speak. Look for the flag and grab a liter.

Here's a photo of one of them, along with my girlfriend being very surprised of the beer she was just handed in the middle of a set

Oh, as far as prices - I believe it was 10 euro for a liter from the mobile barman, and 4 euro for a 500ml beer from a bar. I never drank mixed drinks, but there's a stand where you can get a shot of espresso with a shot of whiskey in it for 3 euro total. Also, there are bars EVERYWHERE, like right next to stages, so you can easily get drinks at a bar and watch the show, and there are enough options that lines are usually very short.

Some stages are literally right next to each other, and some are a 15 minute walk from each other. Check the map on the site, and plan accordingly.

One of the lemonade dudes at FYF has been selling lemonade at Phoenix sporting events for over 20 years. "Lemonade, Lemonade just like Grandma made". I was really surprised to see him there. /coolstorybro

Animal Collective was INSANE last night..they busted out Purple Bottle (Stevie Wonder Version) at the end, the crowd went batshit! Seen them 6 times now and that pretty much was by far the best set from them. Death Grips killed it even sans Zach Hill. Fuck Buttons were pretty awesome as well. Ended our night dancing the night away to Jackmaster's Tweakaholic set..Dude was busting out warped 80s anthems like no other...The Smiths, Bowie, Whitney Houston, Talking Heads...AHHHHH What a great first night at Primavera!! Bummed I missed Deerhunter, but I had seen them 6 times already. I'll most likely be front and center for their set at FYF though.

Can't wait for Daniel Johnston, Tiniariwen, Swans and The KNIFE at 3AM tonight!!
