It was phenomenal this year, would love to go every year. Including Porto would be icing. How close together are the dates next year? I couldn't find it on the website.

Do you go every year, sonofhal?

Pretty sure I am gonna do it....

What is the deal for VIP tix? What do you get with them?

Does this completely sell out on the first day?

Any info at all would be very awesome, I am a complete noob with this, but have wanted to go for 5 years now.

Porto is the weekend after Barcelona.

VIP normally sells out in a day, but they seem to be pushing it more this year, so maybe they are releasing more tickets.

VIP tix get you beers for 1 Euro, your own lovely chillout area (with swimming pool), better food options and your own entrance to the fest with no queues.

I gone got me a combo VIP deal today and now cannot afford to eat for the rest of the month. I'll have to live off the free samples at Borough Market.

Combo as in both fests + free dec one. Don't think I'll make the Dec one unless ATP goes tits up, as same week as their National shindig.

At least we might find out if those Daft Punk rumours are true if they announce headliners.

I highly doubt they'll announce Daft Punk as the headliner...save that for later!

ps The Smiths rumour denied by Marr's manager so who knows!

Good question. Blur is playing Werchter that weekend, which has to help. Pulp hasn't played since 1998, either, so they are also past due.

And the chances of me doing Primavera instead of Bestival just increased
Though if they play Coachella Bestival will be much easier for me to swing financially since it's not until September.

Changes in the tax laws are killing the live music scene in Spain at the moment. Tax on music shows festivals has increased from 8% to 20%. The fest has suddenly become a hell of a lot more expensive to run, and the pot to pay bands from is shrinking. There is even talk of Primavera 2013 being the last one (in Barca). Apparently everything within the festival has the tax hike too - food, drink, merch etc. Sad times.

That is tragic because Primavera is easily my favorite fest in the work

Maybe that was the reason for Porto? I'm thinking of doing this festival next year but in Porto not Barca...cheaper for me.

An incredibly awful recession coupled with austerity measures will do it.

The unemployment rate in Spain is 25%? They are with a handful of european countries thats been on the brink of financial collapse for a few years now. Might as well tax things that are making money.

Hard to make money from a fest and the tourism it brings in if it gets cancelled.
