Kevin Drumm - Sheer Hellish Miasma
Wasn't sure if I was listening to a cd rip, or me just trying to find the signal for the right radio station. Maybe that's what noise music is all about. Considering there's no rhythm it's kind of hard to judge this album without just focusing on the noise. I basically felt like I was at the dentist during The Inferno and to torture me more they played a radio with high static. Cloudy was my favorite part just because I knew the album was almost over and the near silence was nice. I'm still pretty perplexed at what I should've seen in this record.

    Jon Wayne - Texas Funeral
Not to be confused with the actor, Jon Wayne is a country band that tells stories through their music. The lyrics are pretty humorous, and sometimes I just have no clue what the singer is saying. They get pretty silly towards the end. Workin Man Blues is one of the songs that stand out because they jam out on the guitar and make that song enjoyable. The guitar overall was the best thing about the record. The singer isn't very good, and he says Texas way too often so that is annoying. Overall the album was decent. It was a pretty rocky ride, but at least I never got bored.

Devo - Are We Not Men? We Are Devo!
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeahyeahyeahyeahyeahyeah! It's a chorus that does a good job to pump up the listener. Uncontrollable Urge is a very fun and fast song that is flawless. What annoys me is that they break that fast start by doing a cover. At least it's a Rolling Stone's song but I still don't get why they put it as the second song. Jocko Homo is the other annoying track. I get it you are Devo. I like listening to Devo in bits and pieces, but a whole album by them in one sitting becomes a bit to straining. Too Much Paranoias has such great bass in it, and transitions perfectly into the sexy guitar song Gut Feeling. Instrument wise they are pretty awesome, it's just when they decide to sing I get a little turned off.

They made "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" so much their own thing. It's a truly brilliant cover.

it's one of the greatest covers ever IMO.

    The Specials - The Specials
Talk about a ska album that never lets you down. The first album by The Specials is so fluid and never gets boring for a second. Do the Dog is a fantastic and fun song. The best part is when the voiceover enters the song. By combining the classic reggae sound with punk The Specials were able to put out an awesome album along with speaking for what they thought of their society. The trombone to start off A Message to You Rudy continues on to carry that track and the peacefulness of that song is a good setup for what is to come. The guitar is can get pretty wild as heard in Concrete Jungle. They do a good job at balancing the fast and chill songs out both tempos get their fair share. Stupid Marriage is one of my favorite songs based on the steady rhythm and silly lyrics. The debut record by The Specials just does everything right with balancing out each song, so that it's not too slow and not too overwhelming.

I'm not sure besides the first track, but I guess it's better too take a song and make it more popular than cover a song and not achieve the same success

I honestly thought it was all songs they wrote. None of those songs are even close to the recognition of I Can't Get No Satisfaction. The Specials are now my new favorite covers band

    Bad Religion - 80-85
28 tracks in 56 minutes of music created by Bad Religion in their early career. With that being said the production really isn't that great, so the music sounds pretty raw. I can't tell the difference between most the tracks because they're in the same guitar rhythm and tempo. Greg Gaffin's vocals aren't very good compared to the their more mainstream success. He must have taken singing lessons. American Dream at least featured some changes in the guitar. The lyrics are probably the only standout thing on this record. The second half destroys the first half because they finally get out of that same guitar rhythm. Yesterday is easily the best track. I would give the first half about a 4 and the second half a 7 Overall just average punk music.

Coincidentally, the second track off of Let It Bleed, by the Stones, is a cover. The song is entiled "Love In Vain". I do believe that Devo's cover of "Satisfaction" will grow on you, if you decide to give the album a couple more spins.

Bob Marley and the Wailers - Kaya
A pretty chill and peaceful release by the band. The album is pretty much in line with Exodus, so another good album too just chill out too. Easy Skanking and Kaya have such a pleasant guitar rhythm and are incredibly soft for the listener. Coconuts, paradise and marijuana are the first things that come to mind when this music comes on. Is This Love deals with love obviously, and the album tends to focus on this subject. Good beach music as well. That song has such a great chorus and I dig it. I think these songs are great, and executed well. I guess the main problem for people is how slow paced and soft this record is, but I enjoy this type of tempo.
