Get Down Moses is one of my favorite Strummer tracks so will have to disagree with your assessment there.

The Cog review was fair enough. Personally I think they are the best Aussie band in their genre. I do feel they take a while to reveal their depth and that is something obviously precluded by this review format ( that is not a complaint - I actually thought you would like the album less )

Milli Vanilli - Girl You Know It's True
It's pretty sad that this record peaked at number 1. What's even more sad is that this record won a Grammy. What's even sadder and outright pathetic is that they lost their Grammy because the duo who fronted the band turned out not to be the actual singers. Each song relies on a similar shitty drum beat. Then you got these 2 dudes who can't sing who are covering for these other 2 dudes who don't sing and look like girls. Girl You Know It's True has got to be one of the most overrated songs out there. There's nothing even catchy about. The record is bubblegum pop. There's no soul in their music. The downfall of their career was rightfully deserved, and they thankfully have almost been erased from history.

You had to be around in those days to understand it. I won a cassette single of "Blame it on the Rain" after a dance contest at my friend's bar-mitzvah and I played the shit out of it.

Crazy Frog - Crazy Hits
It's a pretty interesting concept to take a ringtone and mix that with a numerous amount of songs and then call that an album. For awhile people went crazy over Crazy Frog and this had the potential to be the next big thing in dance music. The only problem is that the frog started to sound the same in each song, and soon got on everybody's nerves. I'm not scared to admit I really liked Axel F, the song was bumping and I will probably start playing it at some of my parties. I don't take the song seriously at all, and it made me laugh a bunch. The next song Popcorn came on, and it was hard to distinguish it from the previous track. We then get songs like Who Let the Frogs Out and if most people reacted like I did, then we'd all agree that song is stupid and shitty. The Crazy Frog didn't live up to its potential. For one it was mixed in with songs I already didn't care for, and the repetitiveness just got old.

Limp Bizkit - Significant Other
This album was pretty much made to be thrown into your face. Fred Durst talks a lot of shit when he raps. The music starts off on the right track. Just Like This is hardcore and has one of my favorite combos in music: turntables and heavy guitar riffs feeding off each other. Excellent song. Then one of their big hits all time follows which is known as Nookie. Another heavy guitar intro, and then it breaks down for Durst to do his rapping. The chorus is alright. I do like how it's, "Stick it up your yeah!" After that you get the idea of Limp Bizkit is going for for. I can definitely see how this album was a hit back in the 90's. Nu-metal is kind of like a black hole, once you get to close you're screwed and you get sucked in. Though it's not spectacular, I would still consider this above average. Good album production, solid rapping, and some nice beats.

I like The Kills. I was planning to see them at Coachella, until the schedule conflicts. I'm going to a Yankees game tomorrow as well, but can't go wrong with a free show afterwards.

You might be able to grab a ticket outside of the show. I really couldn't think of a cooler place to see the Kills than NYC.

Flying Lotus - Los Angeles
The intro makes it sound like storm is brewing on this record by Flying Lotus. Breathe Something/Stellar Star definitely takes this album to the direction I was hoping for. Sick drum beats combined with experimental mixes. RobertaFlack has got some funk in it and accompanied by the vocals of Dolly. Consistency and flow are what helped make this a great record for me. I felt like I was or in a black cloud, unleashing the rain among the world

Midnight Oil - Diesel and Dust
Beds Are Burning is a fabulous song to start off the record. This pretty much matches the kind of 80's rock I like a lot. Reminds me of Billy Idol and some other stuff. The song has an awesome tempo and a chorus that is super catchy. The use of the keyboards throughout the record is utilized well and isn't played in a way that I hear often on a cheesy 1980's record. Dreamword takes the tempo up a notch and has a fun rhythm, and pretty cool singing. It's an enjoyable track from Midnight Oil. Warakurna is one of my favorite tracks as well. It's one of their more relaxed songs, but because the guitar is more subtle you notice the drum beat better. I was extremely impressed with this rock record that came all the way from Australia. Of the 80's records I've heard this easily makes its way up there as one of the best.

[ Get Down Moses was a joke and should have never been recorded. The reggae thing just did not work. That was the biggest flaw on this album.

Aphex Twin - Richard D. James Album
The style of Aphex Twin is far different than most electronic artists. I feel a bit panicky and the sense that someone is stalking me when going through this album. For some reason I find myself in a paradox where the only light that is emitted comes from green neon lights. Songs like 4 and To Cure a Weakling Child make me hold my breath just because I'm trying to sink everything in, while traveling at hundreds of miles per hour. I've probably said this about another album in the past, but I also think these songs could make up a good soundtrack to a video game. I thought this was much better than the E.P. because the songs had a better flow and seemed more polished.
