Caninus - Now the Animals Have a Voice
This grindcore/ heavy metal band fronted by 2 dogs united to create and release Now the Animals Have a Voice. Every track is about 10 seconds to 90 seconds long and it features heavy thrash and murderous sounding dogs. The album is absolutely terrible and I sort of feel bad for them for how horrible the record is. The dogs aren't even good singers and the music was not easy to get through. Listening to this record made feel a bit paranoid and concerned for those dogs. However, I think one of the dogs recently passed away. R.I.P.

Apparently Caninus released a split LP with a Beak Core band. Metal with an African Grey Parrot.

    What the fuck?

Caninus and Hatebeak are common knowledge for hardcore fans, I believe.

    Beethoven - Symphony No. 9
4 movements make up what is Beethoven's last symphony. Beethoven decided to go all out and assembled the largest orchestra he has ever put together for a symphony. The first movement starts off somewhat fast has about 8 minutes of buildup. The 2nd movement is the worst of the 4 movements but it's still pleasant to the ear. I felt like I was walking down a tunnel waiting to find what's on the other side. Then finally it gets real in the 3rd movement. Everything is in perfect harmony. There's this horn solo which makes this movement identifiable. The 4th movement is the most iconic section in this symphony. It features Ode to Joy! One of the most recognizable tunes there is. The singing by the chorus caps it off and you feel like you accomplished a long fought goal. For being deaf, Beethoven sure has a talent in music.

    Dinosaur Jr. - Bug
Bug is a pretty raw album that was released in 1988. The guitar doesn't always come out very clean, and J Mascis's voice is off key every so often too. The fact is that they created their own distinct sound, using distortion and lots guitar solos that have great melodies. This album has a lot of decent songs, but only a select few blew me away. Freak Scene and Pond Song are two songs where Dinosaur Jr. sound right on their game. Don't was a questionable song because the screaming did not work out at all, even if the instruments sounded sick. A very influential album that helped get a lot of musicians onto the right track.

This sums it up for me. One of the few pieces of music I would call a 10. Two other 10's in my book are the Mozart Requiem and St. Mathews Passion by Bach. I'm sure you'd like both.

Moshing will evolve into bobbing your head while seated with a colonial wig on. Those who are disruptive shall be removed from the concert. I'm looking at all of you "jumping" bros. I would be happy to get rid of the jumpers from concerts forever.

Ha, yes they are. The big difference is that Hatebeak can't perform live because the band says the amplification would kill the bird. I've listened to a few Hatebeak 7" records, they're actually pretty good.

    Zola Jesus - Stridulum EP
A very aesthetically pleasing extended playlist by Zola Jesus. Her rock style is very gothic and peaceful to me. She has a pretty nice voice and the production that went into the album is good. This is one of those records where I just want to listen to it in complete darnkness. Run Me Out is a very eery track, that would go well with a fog machine. It's a good E.P. to listen to, and because it's only 21 minutes long it shouldn't get you bored. Though each track is pleasant I find a lack of energy and nothing is too special. She makes a better blonde than gothic chick.

Oh, if you want to review a 10 album, look no further than Funhouse by the Stooges.

People Under the Stairs - O.S.T.
An underground hip hop that is extremely chill and sexy. I'm a sap for intros and the intro to this album was awesome. The Los Angeles vibes are great and they represent well. "But L.A. is where it all happens for the Dub and Thes One" from the L.A. Song. Acid Raindrops was my favorite because of the chorus, "When the stress burns my brain just like acid raindrops, Mary Jane is the only thing that makes the pain stop." The album is consistent throughout with steady beats and solid rap. The beats were nothing really to brag about but what makes this album special is the tone and lyrics. This is just the perfect album to chill on your front porch and blast this on your boombox (which is out of date). They even have a song that talks about basketball, Hang Loose.
