Mainly I think you'd really enjoy it, this thread bs or not. Its shocking how much happened in the time frame it covers that generally goes unnoticed. Generally bmack's suggestions and your new found love of husker du's zen arcade made me think of it.

    Inspired by the other thread:

Disc 2 of the "Special Collectors Edition" of Amnesiac by Radiohead tracks 1-7 AKA The b-sides:

    1. "The Amazing Sounds Of Orgy"
    2. "Trans-Atlantic Drawl"
    3. "Fast-Track"
    4. "Kinetic"
    5. "Worrywort"
    6. "Fog"
    7. "Cuttooth"

G.G. Allin - Dirty Love Songs
The title is pretty self-explanatory. There's this dude who sings a bunch of random songs about the most random stuff. He likes to talk about poop, whether it's throwing it or eating it. Talks about sex a lot, as well as degrading women. The quality of the record is pretty low and the instrumentals are whatever. Couldn't really find a stand out song, but a lot of them are the same concept. If you google him half his photos show him covered in blood. Good album for the lulz, music I'm not so sure.

    Com Truise - Galatic Melt
From the moment I turned on Galatic Melt I was blown away with how impressive the sound and mix were. You can just kick back and let songs like VHS Sex put you in a trance. The songs are all very good, but it's hard to make a distinction between a few. There is an 80's feel to these songs, but a futuristic feel at the same time. Melting and disassembling are some accurate descriptions of how the listener may potentially feel when going through this record. Love the drops and mixing. I did feel like the album got progressively weaker and lost some momentum towards the end, but it's still a great electronic album to check out.

My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade
The most dramatic and eccentric work by My Chemical Romance which allowed them to seal their immense popularity for the 2000s. Known for just being an emo punk band they decided to step up their game and produce a rock opera. The End immediately establishes that MCR will be taking the listener through a story of death and darkness. There is a great amount of energy in a lot of these songs and they borrow classic rock elements to give this album that feel. The guitar rhythms are so good, and for the first time they introduce the piano/keyboard which plays a significant role in Welcome to the Black Parade. Gerard Way becoming sober made a vast difference in producing better quality music. Songs like Mama and I Don't Love You were some of the weaker songs, while Famous Last Words and Sleep are the standouts to me on the second half of the album. This is an album to celebrate whether you like them or not.

    Color Me Badd - C.M.B.
Where to start. Well the album cover already explains what the listener is going to listen to, a boy band. If I were to look up mediocracy in the dictionary I might these guy's picture next to the term. Average vocals, average beats & rhythm and nothing that was neither good nor bad. I sware Color Me Badd had a similar bass rhythm of Play that Funky Music which irritated me. The fact that they had a bunch of top singles off this record makes me question what people were thinking back then. I Wanna Sex You Up is so overrated with that slow drum beat.

    Pink Floyd - Animals
Pink Floyd proves that making an absolute gorgeous album with just 5 songs is possible. Dogs is a 17 minute song that goes through a variety of sounds. The second half of this song way better because of the eloquence of the guitar, engineering, and all around rhythm. It also features a tranced out and incredible guitar solo. Pigs follows and adds cowbell and piano to create a different feel. It's another beautiful song and great listen. Sheep is very fast paced and may make the listener feel apart of a roller coaster adventure. This album portrays the beauty in life and music. The incorporation of the animal sounds, such as the oinking pig, in the music was a little silly to me. However, the detail of the production and sounds of the songs is most important. Though it's not everyone's favorite Pink Floyd album I still recommend it.

    The Gaslight Anthem - Handwritten
Handwritten demonstrates the progress Gaslight Anthem has made as a band. They showcased an album that is complete and sounds off on a variety of emotions. The album opens with 45, which I personally think is the best song they have created because the guitar riffs and rhythm are super sick, and my favorite line is "But have you seen my heart? Have you seen how it bleeds?" Brian Fallon's vocals sound excellent and the momentum is capped with a great guitar solo. They tried to avoid a title track but couldn't come up with a better name and that's where Handwritten comes into play. Another song with great energy and another awesome guitar riff. Howl is another song that I'd like to mention because it'd be such a fun song to see live because the backing vocals and drum beat make this song feel so alive. National Anthem is their slow ballad which could become a fan favorite. I believe The Gaslight Anthem have finally put together a complete album that will better define who they are and help them break out to a larger audience.

    Deltron 3030 - Deltron 3030
It's difficult not to love the concept and theme behind this hip hop record. 3030 introduces the dystopian world and the story within the record, and I would say this is my favorite song because of the gentle beat, high production value, and awesome lyrics, plus the chorus. Del tha Funkee Homosapien is a great rapper and it makes me happy that he worked with Damon Albarn for this album and then for Gorillaz. Like any good story there are highs and lows for the protagonist, so for there are some songs that are silly, while others are encoded with a dark atmosphere. Digged the the lyrics in Virus because they were so computer oriented and accompanied by a cool beat. There's no better way to fight than holding a rap battle, Del sure showcases his abilities when he has the chance. This type of theme is a great alternative to hearing about guys trying to act all tough and rap about women and sex. Great hip hop album.

Sublime w/ Rome - Yours Truly
It's nowhere near Sublime level, but at least Rome now had his own songs to perform. Panic has always been somewhat of a guilty pleasure mine. It is pretty catchy, and gets stuck in my head easily. Like your typical alternative reggae rock album this is full of positive happy songs, so I just imagine all the bros chilling at the beach with their bud light, with this record on, hitting on every chick that walks by... I also was picturing Rome just playing these songs to a small crowd at a beach bar at night. There are really no songs that blow me out of the water, but it's tolerable. Live is another story.

Those might be the only whole 6's and 7's I've given. The suggestions given are either too good, or average and under lol

Really, the best, most essential Wesley Willis release is the documentary about him. That way you get a better experience of what made him such an interesting artist and person.

    My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
My Bloody Valentine introduces you to a new world of music with their claim to fame album Loveless. Shoegazing can really be done no better. The instrumentals are out of this world. You feel like you're flying in outer space passing by unimaginable worlds. The guitar and bass are incredibly heavy and accompanied by smooth guitar using a wah-wah pedal. Only Shallow is my favorite track because I love everything abut the song, it definitely a big track that inspired the Smashing Pumpkins and M83. I Only Said is another track that displays great shoegazing and has such an amazing rhythm. This is one of those songs that have that spacey feel. The intensity of the music can get overwhelming and To Here Knows When did not come out smooth at all. Soon is the perfect end to this album. Passion and determination best describe what went into this record.
