That certainly could be it too. In any case, I'm watching what I can find of that set on youtube now and jesus fucking christ . . . so amazing. I had no idea what I was getting in to walking into that tent that night, but man, am I happy I did.

Likewise. The only set I've ever seen where I completely forgot I was at Coachella. And I was stone cold sober.

The teenage years should be forgivable when it comes to taste of music. Only thing worse than enjoying KoRn when I was 13/14 is my extended family sending me every new KoRn album since "Follow The Leader", Goldfinger is also quite unbearable now.

Yup. I think I completely forgot I was on earth. I too was stone cold sober. Sadly. Within about 30 seconds of the set starting, I asked my friend, "What the fuck am I getting myself into here?" Response: "Not sure."

Definitely the best of all their albums...

I tried to give them a chance again a few years back, didn't hit at all. I'll stick with my Manson and NIN for the angsty youth memories.

Dream pop and synthpop is probably the best way to describe this record by Grimes. This album features a range of vocals by Grimes and it gets a little weird sometimes. Circumambient is a pretty sexy song and it sounds likes there's a spazzed out robot as the backing vocals. The beats and synth complement each other nicely to get fun awesome songs. I feel like I'm on a cloud floating over the city except the sky is bright pink. Be a Body is another song I really like. Eight drives me crazy and there's a couple other songs where the vocals are just way too high. This is still a strong record and fun to listen to.

    Wolf Parade - Expo 86.
When you're fronted by a guy who can't sing then more likely then not I am going to walk away with a bad impression. I really found their music to be sloppy and not fully thought out. Guitar riffs in some of the songs were cool and reminded me of Bloc Party. Fire the lead singer and I could see this band going far. Pobody's Nerfect was a pretty good song but nothing really stood out to me

    Elliott Smith - Elliott Smith
Needle in the Hay has one of the better acoustic guitar melodies that I've heard. Christian Brothers is a nice followup and the second half of the song when the drums enter adds to the mood of the song. The guitar for each song flows together nicely and I respect the creativity of making it work with just an acoustic guitar for the most part. The Biggest Lie is kind of a wake up call because of what happened, he sings "And everything that you do makes me want to die." Yeah I really enjoy the guitar and the tone of his voice makes it all work. It's a pretty powerful album... not sure where his career went after this album.

    Sister Nancy - One, Two
Every song sounded the same. Each song would open up differently giving me some hope but then as soon as she starts singing we get back to square 1. The opening ring or whatever you call it in Aint No Stopping Nancy may have inspired music used in porn. I don't know. That album was a struggle to get through. 311 is so much better

    Single Special

Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe
After reading over the lyrics I had to conclude this song is clearly about a one night stand. "Hey, I just met you" is pretty self-explanatory. "And this is crazy" implies that she went over to his house and they had sex. "But here's my number" pretty self-explanatory as well, but she must be leaving, "so call me, Maybe?" implies that she would like to see him again.

In terms of the song itself it starts off calm like every other song. Then we get the usual beat and enter the chorus. The effects added to enhance her voice make a great addition to the beat and chorus that so many kids will just eat up. The production of the song is good I guess. The synth is what makes the song popular I think, especially when it does that space effect (http://youtu.be/fWNaR-rxAic?t=2m13s). The song itself is not bad as I'm trying to have an open mind but it's overrated for sure.
