    Default Fiona Apple

    Blah blah blah... Last paragraph.

I could see this as a pretty awesome sunset slot.

By the time he was five, Charley Drayton knew exactly what he wanted to do in life. Born in Brooklyn, New York, into a successful musical family, Charley spent his childhood watching his dad, Bernard, work in recording studios. “I’d meet my dad in the city and go to his sessions,” explains Charley. “The musicians that I heard on records were the same people who did jingles during the day. So I got to meet all these great musicians, and they started to become part of my life. It was my education; that was school for me. So from very early on, I felt like I knew that music was going to be it for me. I felt like I wanted to be there so quickly that I needed to be with the adults. I never felt like that in school. I couldn’t relate to the innocence of a young person figuring out what it is that they want to do in life. I already knew.”

Charley’s drumming credits include the B-52’s, the Brecker Brothers, Herbie Hancock, Mariah Carey, Phyllis Hyman, Hiram Bullock, Chaka Khan, Roseanne Cash, Joe Cocker, Wynona Judd, Marianne Faithful, Michelle Branch, and Fiona Apple. He’s also had numerous gigs playing guitar, bass, and keyboards, as well as singing, writing, and producing. Today his non-drumming credits include producing the Australian band divinyls (featuring Chrissy Amphlett, who later became Charley’s wife) and playing bass (and drums) in Rolling Stone Keith Richards’ solo project, the Xpensive Winos. He’s also played bass with the Cult, Seal, Iggy Pop, Neil Young, Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, and Janet Jackson.

Among Charley’s current projects is playing, co-producing, and mixing Fiona Apple’s upcoming record, scheduled to be released in the spring of 2011. Recently Charley toured with the reunited Simon & Garfunkel. And this past summer he worked as musical director of Cablevision/MSG productions CEO Jim Dolan’s band, JD & the Straightshot, who opened for the Eagles on their stadium tour. Currently the band is getting ready to head out on the road for a few more dates with the Eagles in the fall.

I'd watch. Saw her in probably 1999, enjoyed the show. Fiona wore pants and a skirt. Pants AND a skirt!

I've seen her a half dozen times and she never dissapoints. I love the song below because it is sounds so beautiful but the lyrics are so dark.

Would love to see her too, but don't bet the ranch on a Coachella performance.
For 2011, more music that sounds like it would play on the Thailand stage of Street Fighter II.

Wanted to see her on her last tour, but she hasnt exactly earned the right to charge $65 for a ticket yet.

Still, she could be great in the right slot.

Saw her 2000 and 2006, every visit to Vancouver. Love to see her again.

It'd be in a tent and the gig may be high profile enough for someone like Jon Brion to show up.

That's weird because my roommate paid $40 for tickets at The Warfield.
