OK, sell me on their progress in two songs. I will legitimately listen to them. And I was a fan of Linkin Park in high school, so you have an easier task in front of you than it coudl be with most people on the board.

Oh, I was semi-kidding. But seriously speaking, their first two albums were largely identical rap-rock. The third album was more organic, changed things up rhythmically here and there...oh yeah, and they ripped off "With or Without You" ("Shadow of the Day"). The last album I read described somewhere, no joke, as their "Kid A" - which might be true for LP fans because the guitars were mostly buried in the mix. The first single from the new album sounds like a continuation, drum loops and synths on top of a "modern rock" template.

But we digress. Muse may not be a great band but Linkin Park has no place in this thread.
