ELASTICA & LUSH for 2013

i think both are in a similar boat in that both are possible depending on the financial incentive

2013 is Elastica's 20th anniversary, and from what i gather most if not all of the band are on good terms
and with justine being a california resident these days coachella would make for a perfect start

lush have been open and said that they are willing when a solid offer comes in from what ive read in these parts


i would love to see either or both on next years bill

Both of them should play especially Lush. I got to see both of them when they were both fun and amazing. Elastica should just play their self titled album in its entirety. Lush no matter what they play will be great. It is time for both to arise and you know they would be playing because they want to the money would be nice but it would make it a true Coachella triumph if either one played.

Lovelife was great, If you didnt like the album proper then you should check out the B-sides from that era they are amazing. Split has always been their strongest album to me because it was the one where they pulled away from the Cocteau Twin comparisons of Gala and Spooky and became their own band.

Well, consider what kind of venue a band like Lush would play on a reunion tour. I'd wager maybe Wiltern-sized theaters in the major markets at best, which seems to be the standard for reunion acts of this sort, so think of how much money that could possibly generate. For example, My Bloody Valentine spent "close to 400,000 pounds" on gear and rehearsals, and after that first batch of a dozen or shows in London, Manchester, and Glasgow, they were still 100k in the hole. Of course, not every band would spend as much on gear as one with Kevin Shields, but in this case, the artists in question would need to be able to afford to take off work for several months, get gear, rehearse, and travel, so we're still looking at a high cost. A string of club and theater gigs isn't going to cover that without a supportive label or a big festival check or two.

I know Perry Farrell was a big fan and supporter back in the day, but how much influence does he still have with Lollapalooza? They also did Glastonbury and Reading, but the former pays even their headliners pocket change, and the latter, well, you know.
