You don't have the foggiest fucking clue how a server works. This thread wouldn't even show up in its database size. Go back to J Tree.
it was a joke. Good morning asshole.
Sounds like I need to start up a Daft Punk business. Where do I begin?
If there's Coachella to be had, I'm gonna have it
in reality this thread is very important and we should spend more time here discussing how great daft punk is and always has been.
So what if Daft used samples in their music. Countless other artists do the same thing. Can't wait to hear what they have in store on the new album!
DAFT PUNK FOR COACHELLA 2013!
1. So Daft Punk sucks for more or less inventing the Dj stage show? that makes them worse than every, fucking dj that has copied them since?
2. Is it stealing if they're collaborating with disco legends?
3. If it's the lights and costumes that made them famous, then why was their return so over in 06 when they hadn't used any of those things in 7-8 years? (or ever, i don't remember them having any stage props in '97, except the masks).
'shitty music' for 'shitty people' who only like them for the lights and costumes? Odd, since the Vegoose bootleg is my most played download on my player and i've never even seen their shitty lights or shitty costumes. i've listened to the '06 chella performance, but i've never watched it. Sure, i'm shitty and i like shitty music, but not for the reasons you claim, which invalidate your entire argument in my eyes. And i still maintain that it's the cream of the crop when it comes to electronic music (and easily outdoes anything that came out between '01-08)....but i will give you that Underworld is more overdue to play (but IN the sahara, none of this Outdoor nonsense), make it happen GV!!
at this point.... id take Underworld over Daft Punk.
Coachella 07 (the introduction), 08 (the bands), 09 (the documentary), 10 (the people i came with), 11 (the relationship test... we passed), 12 (whatever the weather, Dirty Epic forever), 13 (the year of the troll)
- PEARL JAM WHY YOU HATE COACHELLA? -
I just don't understand Daft Punk. I mean don't get me wrong if they were at Coachella I would go see them but I don't get what all the fuss is about? Then again I don't really get Radiohead either so maybe there is just something wrong with me.
they should just move coachella to James Murphy's house and then we'd all get to see Daft Punk.
If you don't get it, well....you don't get it.
There were those who never heard of Daft Punk, saw the show, loved it and became new fans. Then there are those who were already fans of Daft Punk and they shat themselves when they saw the 2006 poster. Many, like myself, who have been listening to Daft Punk since Homework dropped have waited for an opportunity to see them. My only chance to have seen them was when I was 12 and they were at the Mayan....Yeah.... not going to happen. It looked pretty amazing though, they have a DVD that allows you 12 camera angles of their song "Rolling and Scratching", one of the very few dvds (other than porn) that utilized the multiangle idea with dvd technology. You could just see all these different views of their show and it definitely displayed the intimacy and energy between DP and fans. They have always wanted to utilize the most they can out of a technology. The Alive 2007 Tour really showcased this, look up the picture that shows the inside of their Pyramid. It's quite impressive, then you find out they have HUDs inside of their helmets, in addition to voice communicators?! What the fuck. That's just cool. Then you realize, instead of making a new album, they decided to remix their past 3 albums as a 2 hour dance fest. It fucking worked beautifully.
One thing to appreciate about their music is this: simplicity. They keep it simple on their albums and still produce hits. "Da Funk" is an amazing anthem that, unfortunately due to the bands recent popularity, is now just about played to death. I was discussing with a friend the other night, only Daft Punk should play Daft Punk now a days. Mainly because they can keep their stuff fresh, everyone else drops a Daft Punk song and it feels like a token of Daft Punk rather than a creative choice. Sure they have sold out, but wouldn't you? Bullshit if you say you'd prefer living in "honest" poverty rather than cashing out for a song you wrote a few years ago.
I highly recommend you see their next "Live" show, its worth it. I hear tons of hate all the time for Daft Punk, stating they are overrated. Then I ask these folks, "Have you seen them live?" to which they reply, "No...Have you?" I say, "Yes." they say, "Oh..."
I feel the main argument against Daft Punk is their popularity, as it has reached that population known as "idiot". Yes, there are ton of idiot fans, but don't tell me there aren't idiot fans for Radiohead, Morrisey, Pink Floyd, NBA, MLB, NFL etc. All things sacred are destined to be doomed by the idiot population one day.
Don't get me wrong... I like Daft punk. BUT, I'm just not so obsessed with them as some people seem to be. I would LOVE to see them live and I have heard they are an amazing show but I won't be disappointed if i never get the chance to see them. Does that make sense? Like if it happens, awesome! If not, oh well. But maybe that's just it, I have heard all their music over and over and over and over again that it just doesn't seem special anymore?
I saw them at Red Rocks 07 and I still would rather have seen them at the Even Furthur rave in Wisconsin on May 1996 without their robot suits.
If you don't like Daft Punk I blame every fucking DJ who refuses to play anything except Harder Better Faster Stronger when there are 3 albums full of magic. When the fuck am I gonna hear someone drop Phoenix or Voyager? Never, that's when.
Daft Punk is overrated.
I'd do suprefan.
Where the hell is the new album already, has to be dropping soon...that's going to give this rumour of headline slot a whole bunch of credibility.
its probably going to drop the same time detox does
