Hi Guys,
Does anyone know when the safari tents will go on sale for 2013? Were they included in pre-sale?
Thanks![]()

thanks - you can't book them online, do you know if the 20% payment plan is available for them? Just sent an email through.
sweet - thanks!
Last year weekend one didn't sell out until shortly before. During weekend one I was told that there were still a few left for weekend two.

I did it last year for the first time. This is a lame statement, but if you can afford it, it is worth every penny. But if you really should not be spending the extra money on it, it isn't. The Safari area is amazing, but it isn't really that much closer than the car/tent camping. Safari makes it easy to have front of the crowd access, but if you get to the acts you want to see early enough, you will have the same view. You get access to the VIP areas, but I found it just as easy to get a beer in the regular beer gardens as I did the VIP area. Bottom line is if you are maxing your credit cards out to buy it, it is probably a bad idea.
there was also a pool at the safari tents. that was pretty cool

Can't wait to wear my Speedo...
I can only speak for 2012. You can get behind the stage at both stages and all three tents. That is how you can get from stage to stage. It is also how you catch the golf cart back to your tent. Strangely you did not have access to the stages in the tents. However, you could walk right up on side stage for the Outdoor or Main Stages, except during the headliners. I watched part of Shins from on the stage. Pretty cool.

Shins from side stage. First time posting a picture so I apologize. Taken with my phone, so it's not the best picture. You can see the VIP area in the background.

Cool pic.
So, where is the preferred viewing area during the headliners? Do you get to sit/stand in front of the barricade?
I was going to try and describe it, but thought a sketch would be better. For many sets you were right on the rail or only a few people back. For the night stuff you were a little farther back. For the headliners you had to get there at least an hour early and then work you way up. I was about 5 off the rail for Snoop & Dre and I was there 1.5 hours before they went on.

pool pics, please ;-D
I can't find my camera, so I am missing many of my pictures from the weekend. What I posted earlier was from my phone. I am sure I took a picture of the pool with my camera but.....
So, the next best thing is a link to a picture: http://valleymusictravel.com/coachella_safari2013.php
It was an above ground pool with a deck around it.

Did you end up going for Safari? I had it last year...but all I did was buy the spot off someone, I didn't stay in their tent (I have a good car camp setup). I did use the showers and enjoy the food/snacks in the Safari compound though! And the stage access was pretty awesome - guest area up front, back/side stage access, etc. Got Sebastian Ingrosso to sign my MIA2IBZ license plate, too
If you get it again this year, please let me know. I'd be up for buying a spot.
Happy Chella!!
