A case of beer per person. That's not much for three days so a lot of people find creative ways to bring the harder stuff. And the search for any items that are not approved can be extensive. Some of the people doing the searching are thorough, some of them not so much. Check the FAQ section. It's quite detailed.

    Aunt Jemima
    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

Hey Jemima, there are 3 (2 guys and a girl) of us travelling from the UK for the festival too, been wondering some of the questions you've asked myself. You're more than welcome to tag along with us...

    1) is there a a certain amount of beer/alcohol can you bring? can you take it around the festival??

One case of beer per person in the campgrounds - but this is a pretty loose rule. I usually bring in some vodka (in water bottles) - my neighbors brought in a bunch of rum in Snapple Iced Tea bottles. You can't take it into the festival, but there are beer gardens inside that sell expensive beers and cocktails.

    2) best and Cheapest place to buy a tent? i would have been travelling for two months till i get there i wont be able to bring my own.

Walmart / Target / Sports Authority - lots of the big chain stores sell tents fairly cheap.

    5) if food expensive?? can we bring as much as we like??

Food inside the festival is about average price - and most of it is pretty good. You can bring as much food as you like into the campgrounds. There are also some food trucks and stands in the campgrounds.

    4) could i tag along with anyone?

It's a really friendly crowd - I'm sure you can connect with someone!

    Any info would be AMAZING!!!

    thanks soo much!!

Be prepared for festival heaven, be prepared for sunshine, free parking, plenty of space, no queues for beer, great food and the best selection of new music and established acts that you could wish for.
Be prepared for no-one chucking beer around, no litter, bands that hit the stage exactly on time, passionate performances and courteous fans that are there to appreciate the music and not just to get blitzed.
Br prepared for massive anticipation 3 weeks into January, 5 stages within a short walk from each other, lush grass and amazing sunsets.

Next year will be our 5th Coachella traveling from the UK. I've been to most festivals at home and will not be going to another ... ever ... again

    1) is there a a certain amount of beer/alcohol can you bring? can you take it around the festival??
One case of beer per person in the campgrounds BUT! there is a free shuttle that goes to the grocery store and you can leave and buy more alcohol if you need to. But they will only let you bring one case per person back on the shuttle. You can't bring it into the festival but you can go in and out as many times as you'd like and they sell alcohol in the festival but it is expensive.

    2) best and Cheapest place to buy a tent? i would have been travelling for two months till i get there i wont be able to bring my own.
Wal-mart would be the cheapest but if you aren't pro Wal-mart there are other chain stores near by as mentioned above.

    5) if food expensive?? can we bring as much as we like??
food in the festival is expensive ($7 for a slice of pizza... but it is spicey pie nommm) I'd suggest bringing in food to the camp grounds.

    4) could i tag along with anyone?
looks like you are already finding friends on here

I enjoyed the guaranteed sun this year whilst I was freezing my nads off in the wind and rain.

Some more UK people!! What are the plans you have made? We are planning on getting out there for 5th April and spending some time in Cali before we go down to the festival on 14th. We have no idea as to what we do in the lead up to the festival but again we are as clueless in terms of where we will be camping and what amenities we will find there, but I have read nothing but good so far in these posts so we are just as excited as you. We are flying from Norwich in Norfolk
