I bought a car camping pass for the first time in my 6 years, along with 5 other friends in our group. We've never camped. Currently lost in fantastical thought, making a checklist of necessities and potential luxuries, and theorizing all the possible ways to transform our 2x3 spot into a massive Tent Fort worthy of the Coachella gods.

You'll have a blast camping. I did regular car camping for the first time last year with 3 spots and I wished I had 6.

This year so far we have 3 again but I'm sure we'll find at least one more person/spot to add to our group. Make a little square campsite. I CANT WAIT

I can't wait either. It's going to be capital-M Madness. In the meantime I'm going to be taking inventory of all the camping gear my extended family owns and see what kind of stock I'm working with. Hopefully I can find some sweet kind of tarp/covering to drape from tent to tent: Crucial for the rage-in, chill-out Tent Fort I'm envisioning. I'm actually going with a bunch of friends from SD (UC High, '07).

~Aside: Yes, The Holy Mountain (/the mind of Jodorowski in general) is batshit-level insanity. Puts Lynch to shame. I was debating between "The Mad Stork" & "Poor Yorick" as usernames since David Foster Wallace's masterpiece Infinite Jest seriously inspired me over summer. Decided to go with the more Shakespearean of the two.

This is the first year that I've ever felt a little bit of regret after buying the pass. My group of friends and I are all split up between Weekend 1 and 2 because of the clusterfuck, and I just didn't have that excited feeling after purchase that I did in the past. At this point I want to sell my pass after it's paid off and check out OSL and maybe Lolla again. Maybe things will change when the lineup comes out, but this last Coachella just didn't have the same vibe as year's past.
