I'm going with 50%. Last year they virtually sold out weekend one in presale. Guessing they are leaving a larger reserve this year.

last year there were 17k tickets available for the general on-sale (citing the #;s from GV that they sold 68k wknd 1 pre sale passes last year and the 85k figure for total attendance each weekend). the general onsale last year sold out in 3 hrs, this year in 2. just a guess, but that's how i got there.

That makes sense. Though this doesn't matter to ticket brokers, the limit of 2 per transaction could have helped to push down the total. VIP Weekend 1 is now sold out as well.

I think the number is a lot higher than 17k. Facebook was blowing up with people " r in 4 Week 1". Many of these people didn't go (or know ) about the festival in the past. Add that up with most of the forum board and I would say at least 50% is gone. Also, remember weekend 1 sold out within an hour last year while everything else was gone within 3 hrs.

If GV were smart they would only sell a smaller amoun of tix during the presale..Then they get everyone hyped up and bummed that they didnt get tickets, then they release a bitchin lineup and jack up ticket pices an extra 50-100$..Make a lot more money, and once they put the 75% remaining, they will sellout instantly still

God does this make so much sense! Other fests do their pre-sale for a lower price than when they go on general sale; why not Coachella?
